They seem to work well. I purchased two of them for my backyard porches. I have had them up about a week. I can hear them zapping. Even when turned off, there is a little light that remained on. Switch controls a light at the bottom, which gives a little light to the area-not just the UV for the bug attraction. We don't get much rain in our area, but when I installed we did get rain. They are under a porch, but I wasn't too concerned since they are supposed to be waterproof.

I have to open my back door a lot to let the dogs in and out and mosquitoes keep coming into my house so I sit this right next to my chair in the living room and it works great. I’m no longer being eaten alive in my own home by mosquitoes easy to clean out.

I have a screened in porch, which is no deterrent for those pesky no-see-ums, and I got sick of getting chewed up every time I sat out there. I plugged this zapper in out there as soon as it arrived, and it started working immediately. It sounds like I have a big bowl of Rice Krispies out there - SNAP, CRACKLE AND POP! Highly recommend this item, it's awesome to return indoors without scratching my arms and legs to pieces.

This zapper impressed me, great for camping and tents, the light is bright and killed bugs quick. If you have it outside, it attracts a lot of bugs, I didn’t hang close to house. Still a great buy for inside my home.

I use it in my garage when I do pottery which attracts a lot of mosquitoes. It works pretty well and I loke that it double duties as a lantern. I do wish that it had a power on/off for the zapper instead of just a straight plug in, but not bad for the price. If you have a lot of mosquitoes in area, you may need additional zappers.

I want to rate these 5 stars and one star. One is working so well that it even catches hornets! I say One bc the other one (I bought 2) I used once and it just stopped working. No clue why
