This insect zapper is larger than I expected, and that is a good thing. It is quite easy to set up, just plug it into your wall outlet and you're all set to start zapping bugs. The unit comes with two lights, the main attractant purplish light, that is always on, until you pull out the power cord. And there is a light at the bottom of the unit, for if you need to hang it up in a tent and have the tent illuminated. There is a little red switch just under the roof of the unit, that turns this light on and off. It is satisfying to hear the loud snap sound when a bug gets zapped. So far, it is a value for the money, quality built, it kills the bugs, especially the tiny no see ums. Another note is the ease of cleaning, just unscrew the bottom cover, empty out and screw back on. I highly recommend. Oh, the cord is a decent length and the unit comes with a small brush to clean up.

This is performing well after trying other brands, I found it quiet, a good size, and long battery life. It doesn't blind you with UV light like many of the older ones. It does not kill many bugs that I can tell, only if it is a Unit close to you.

This worked AMAZING for a recent gnat problem I had. I recently became infested with gnats due to some potatoes I had forgotten about in my cupboard, and within a week I was over run by the darned things. I tried everything I could think of to get rid of them. Made sure any refuse was tightly bagged up before placing in the trash bin, and any trash was immediately taken out the MOMENT it started to smell funny, dishes were done the moment they were used, but nothing seemed to get rid of them. THEN I found the potatoes. and LORD, I never knew so many gnats could exist in one place at the same time. lol It was this moment I decided to get this bug zapper. When I tell you there were a lot of these little dive bombing demons, I couldn't breathe without having one of those buggers try flying up my nose. I bought this and YAY! I can breathe again! hahaha! I am now gnat free after only 2 days of running this amazing little contraption. There was no sweeter sound than the sound of those little winged demons snapping and popping like a bag of popcorn. Sure the sound DID get annoying after a while, but MAN was it worth it! If you have a fly issue, I HIGHLY suggest buying this! It's quicker and better than any standard fly trap you could possibly buy. It's well worth the extra money if you need to get rid of the problem quickly and efficiently.

I live in the Pacific Northwest - the fall season is horrible for gnats & fruits flies. This year was a full on INFESTATION - worst year ever, just a thick flurry of them everywhere. I ordered a half dozen of these zappers for indoors. Placed them strategically: In bathroom, over kitchen sink, near heat sources like computer & tv screens (areas where they seek warmth, light & water), and next to my doors. I went from hundreds to a few sporadic gnats. Also, keep your drains closed (where they breed) - bathtubs, sinks, etc!! Additionally, if you can hang your zappers in front of mirrors, you will attract more bugs. The bonus of the LED light on the bottom is helpful, as you get a small nightlight, and additional heat & light attracts more pests. And lastly, these zappers use standard bulbs that are easy to find on amazon, that you can often purchase in bulk for savings - especially if u order multiple zappers like I did.

it took a night but there were what seemed like more flies then i had ever seen before in one spot . like a remaking of ' the birds' but with flies. that was oct of 2024 , as of 6/1/2025 the blub died . just when fly season was coming back around . when i asked the seller what light bulb to buy he wrote back saying order one and i will refund your purchase . how i wondered with no more than that to go by. . still no answer to which bulb. i ordered a new light that came with a spare bulb. the new light flickered so i was going to return it after the 1st day. tried to contact seller but that turned into just circling around to the same spot. sadly the light is great but the seller is not great . i now know what bulbs do work thou so ordered 4 more just to be standing by.i live in the country and i love a fly free house and mosquito free house too. sadly it is now the fixture itself that no longer works . the base still lights up but the bug killer bulb will not light up . i tried 4 new bulbs but none worked so i am now returning the lamp itself. i am now being eaten and hope a new lamp will save me .

It lasted a year working non-stop in our garage. Did a great job at killing everything. A bit loud when it zapps an insect. But who cares. We aren't in the garage all the time. The lantern feature at the borron was a nice touch. I might buy it again. Still deciding.
