My son wanted this for Christmas, it is a tank! lol. He had a simple human jug that was just to long and had a lid handle that is harder to hold and hard to clean seals, etc.. This shorter 'barrel" looking jug is cool looking, KEEPS ICE COLD FOR 48 HOURS! It has a special spigot for drinking from the water cap hole, the handle is outstanding to hold and carry, not some wimpy "hook on" lid loop. It is a bit heavy, but, no heavier than the huge simple human cylinder he had. And it's green, so nice to not have "stainless" smudges, lol. This thing is a tank, and does not leak, had a special "insert spigot" thing so you can drink from it without "splashback", sorry, don't know how else to say it. Not cheap, but, Yeti is always quality, so no complaints here! Would buy again! ... show more

I had the Arctic half gallon before the lid was really thin and I believe that’s where it let all the coolness out. This lid is about 3 inches thick and will keep ice well over 24 hours. I use this on the ambulance so I never have to worry about running out of water for 12 hours. This thing is great.
