I love this mug. It keeps my coffee hot all morning, especially if you pre-heat it with hot/boiling water, but that isn't necessary if you like normal temperature coffee, I just happen to like mine really hot. The lid magnets come apart and go together easily for cleaning, not like some lids where you can't get into all the nooks and crannies. It is leak proof as far as I know but I wouldn't trust it in my bag, but then I wouldn't trust any bottle/container in my bag, so that's just me. My only complain is that it is heavy, not that that is a bad thing, just something to think about.

Purchased for husband’s coffee-to-go in mornings. Wanted something nothing that felt more like a coffee mug and he really likes the handle. It fits perfectly inside car cup holder. The blue color is beautiful and you can spot your cup easily in case you set it down and forget where! LOL! It’s YETI so I don’t really need to review it’s ability to keep drinks hot/cold for like 2 days!!! YETI is awesome for that (also check out STANLEY for amazing cups!). Really happy I purchased even if price is a little steep.

There are mugs with lids that don’t seal at all but which are very easy to wash thoroughly. Some like the the Yeti with just a simple magnetic slider that keep heat in well enough but they don’t seal very well all and will leak if jostled let alone knocked over. But they are still very easy to clean. And then there are mugs with screw on lids that are completely leak proof, but have all kinds of little nooks and crannies that are difficult if not impossible to get completely clean. This Yeti mug represents a nice middle ground. The lid has the magnetic slider of other Yeti mugs, but it also has a rubber gasketed slider on the undersurface of the lid that does a very good job of preventing any leaks if the mug is jostled or leak very little if knocked over and quickly set upright. So definitely not something you can just throw in your backpack. However, it is very easy to disassemble the seal and gasket and get all the soy milk and coffee washed out so am not drinking fermented soy milk with my next mug of coffee. The cherry on top is that you can still open and close the slider with the thumb of the hand holding the mug. The handle is short enough to not interfere when setting in the cup holder in my car, but big enough to allow three fingers to fit through with my pinky finger under the loop so it is easy to keep the mug from trying to rotate around the handle like some mugs can do. All and all, just the mug I was looking for to make my morning drive easy and spill free and my coffee hot all the way to the bottom.

Extremely easy to clean, love the handle and I love that it does keep my tea hot for several hours. I do NOT like the fact that if tipped at even the slightest angle this cup leaks all over the place. After years of using an Oxo travel mug that I could literally throw into my bag on its side without even the slightest leak this is a major bummer. My oxo mug also kept my beverages hot ALL day. I'd say go with Oxo instead.

I hesitated spending extra for YETI, having been satisfied with the far cheaper Contigo (which are a great value for the money). Had my first hot coffee since getting this item and it was just right and kept the drink hot for some time. Time will tell if the handle is as helpful as I hope, but so far, so good. The Stronghold lid appears much closer to leakproof than the Magslider - be careful which comes with the YETI item you order. Another option is the 12- and 18-ounce versions of the YETI Rambler with Hot Shot Cap, which is pretty much leakproof (I have the 12-ounce version). Since Starbucks offers 12/16/20, I wanted a 20, so I got the YETI Rambler 20 oz Travel Mug. I gave the vessel and the lit a quick rinse in hot water. My plan is a thorough cleaning now and then. When my Contigo cups got nasty from coffee, a soak in a weak bleach solution (like 20:1) made them look like new. Bleach is nasty stuff so be careful if you go this route (I've had no luck with the vinegar option).

Long distance driving requiring coffee? Yep. Keeps the coffee hot a long long time (I mean, drinkably hot for 3+ hours). I also picked this one, instead of the tumbler, because of the lock-lid style. I dribble. This lid stops the dribbling. :^) If you're looking for a great travel mug, you can buy this without reservations.
