Why didn't I buy this years ago! Would of saved so much money. Decided to spend the $$$ and buy this for myself after buying Contigo's year after year. I don't always finish my coffee at work and when I get home it is still warm, seven hours later. No issues so far on leaking. I got sick of all the different size lids and cups we had laying around and made the smart decision to get rid of every other type of cup and just get everyone a few of these. This is all we use, and we can interchange the lids around with the different styles of lids. They also are very effective and hold the head/cold in better than any other reusable bottle we have ever had.

My Contigo was shabby. Time to replace. But the currently available colors of the Contigo were not to my liking. Plus, I wanted a dishwasher-capable tumbler and cap. I chose a bright yellow Yeti and am very happy with that choice. Not so much with the Hot Shot cap. To begin, there are no markings to show sealed, drink, and/or remove. In the drink position, I didn't find the "sip" experience satisfactory. Finally, it's really easy to get that inner cap so tight that my 77-year-old fingers had to resort to pliers. Because there are other caps available from Yeti and third-party suppliers the "fix" was simple. Although the already expensive tumbler became even more expensive. I left a five-star rating because personal preferences for the cap are easily addressed. I compared holding temperatures with my old Contigo. After an hour of sitting on the counter, my Contigo lost 18 degrees. My Yeti with the Hot Shot cap lost 12.4 degrees. I like that! CROSS-THREADING: It is easy to both cross-thread the cap and also to get the cap on too tight. The flex in the plastic enables this and can lock down everything. This is not unique to this cap nor to Yeti. I had the same issue with my ancient Contigo. What works for me is holding the cap in one hand and pressing GENTLY against the tumbler. The other hand rotates the tumbler clockwise until I can feel both sides of the cap drop into the threads. If it takes some oomph to screw on the cap, then you are still cross-threading. I tighten the cap until it is snug, not tight. My cap/tumbler squeeks when snug. I always give the tumbler a shake over the sink before I go wandering off.

We love this cup soooooo much, we’ve purchased 3 or 4. I have one in the smaller size, but we like that this one holds a bit more & it isn’t too bulky. The screw top ensures a good seal & is easier to drink from. Also, it keeps the temperature of the beverage, either cold or hot. Hours later, my hot tea was still really warm.

It kept my ice cubes as ice for 24 hours and still was quite cold 48 hours later. Also kept and oat milk latte super warm for a long long time (hot oat milk lattes aren’t super warmed to begin with as they can’t be steamed to as high of a temp as they can burn much easier than regular milk)
