We use these for ice cream. I have purchased half a dozen (or more) Yeti products from Amazon, and local retailers. I used to think the knock-offs were just as good, but I've changed my ways. These are much better. I still think Yeti products are too expensive at full retail. So I only buy them on sale. I've purchased a few of these tumblers for myself, and friends & family. The other day, I scooped ice cream in preparation for my movie snack. (Home movie, but you could definitely sneak this into the theater.) I got ADHD distracted I had left it on the counter, came back over an hour later and nothing was melted. Top was a little soft, but not melted. I spent another 45 min or more snacking throughout the show, and all the way to the bottom was still frozen after almost two hours. Best of all, they're dishwasher safe.

Bought the "rescue red" color for my hubby (he's a 911 operator). He loves it! Cup is thick metal and definitely keeps drinks cold or hot. It's probably not leak proof, but the Yeti magna-slider lid is not advertised to be. The first cup I ordered arrived with a ding in the metal; it had been packed just in a box with no padding. Easily returned it and ordered another that arrived well padded and undamaged.

Yeti mug and lid design and quality is the best available. It is extremely stable and has a large capacity. The only downside is that the large amount of metal needed for such a design sucks the heat from hot liquids placed in it. I find it necessary to heat the mug with hot water prior to use. Otherwise an excellent mug.

My sweetheart hates it when their ice cream gets melt-you. I got this mug initially for soup, but scooped ice cream in it, and now that's all we use it for, had to buy another so we could both use one. If u don't care about the color, there's usually one on sale for $20-$24 bucks.
