Why did you pick this product vs others?: Well, the helmet was working really good but all of a sudden the auto darkening quit working. I’m about the same time the headband adjustment kind of stripped out. Contacted yes. They sent me a brand new one no problem. Same helmet first one must’ve been kind of a fluke because this one’s working great. Great customer service also once you get it set up to your liking everything works good. Another good point is it will go to a full charge and like 30 minutes as far as the side panels, I rarely look out the side, but when I do they work

First of all to everyone saying this won't trigger all the time and gets you blinded... If you were to actually read the instructions it tells you if that happens to hit the Test/Reset button while looking when it failed to darken and it resets it to work properly. I used the sun to calibrate all my settings. I also had the issue and looked in troubleshooting (page 14, Q#2). Pros: -very large spectrum of sensitivity and delay settings -darkens very nicely, darker potential than my HF helmet (grey iron man looking one) -no green tint, it's clear -USB Type-C recharging for LED. -even comes with a soft cotton tout/bag Cons: -The helmet interior seems a bit close to the lense and causes my nose to hit -The straps need to be 100% tight to not fall down until your face hits the screen (both issues can be somewhat remedied by making top strap tighter and tightening knobs down hard) -A bit on the heavy side, not a deal breaker but definitely heavier than my HF grey mask. -LED brightness not adjustable. -the mask sensors are in a horrible spot, if you have anything get in the way of them the helmet will u darken and make you blind. Make sure to always weld with your forehead more centered than usual Pending results: -The lenses minimum darkness isn't 100% clear, but could be neutral if used for grinding with a slightly shade -LED is kind of odd in AUTO mode. While testing it flickered a lot. I'll update once I use it to weld. After welding. Engineering recommendations and flaws (yesWelder listen up) -LED is useless during welding and interferes with its own sensors which makes you repeatedly get blinded... -the sensors are in a horrible spot and should be in different positions (not just in a straight horizontal line in one place above your eyes). If they had sensors below the visor and above it would be better. The side sensors are useless anyway. -LED should be seperate from the lense by the sensors as they interfere due to glare and screw up everything. -not sure why but this thing likes to flicker, especially the small windows

So I read every thing this helmet had to offer and was intrigued and bought it. I used it for the first time today and first off its really comfortable. I can really adjust the head band to my BIG @ss head. the back pad really grabs the back of my head to keep from slipping forward extremely comfortable. The panoramic view left right up down is totally amazing BIG viewing area and if thats not enough it has 3 bright LEDS on the front of the Helmet and 3 adjust on top with a protective cover. it has a usb charger so when I hit the road I plugged in to the cigarette lighter on the front seat to charge and go and last up to 24 hours. Im really impressed with this helmet so far and oh I love the eagle on the sides. I say buy it try it and if you dont like it Amazon returns so easy. may the arc be with you.

2 failed helmets, zero for two. First helmet failed shortly after using it just a few times. Prior to failure, the LED lights and controls were amazing. It had a very clear view. The fit and finished seemed good as well. Unfortunately, the LED would not shut off and had a faint glow that would drain the battery. I emailed the company, and they had fantastic customer service. I sent in pictures of the failure, and they promptly sent a new helmet. Sadly, the second helmet was trash. the LED had exploded or were never installed. it looked like hot glue where the LEDs belonged. Quality control is severely lacking. I wanted to have a positive outcome here as I was wanting some of their other equipment, but I will look elsewhere.

First and foremost I am not a professional welder, I am a weekend welder. I recently ordered the Yes Welder welding helmet mdl: LYG-19800G. It looked like a decent helmet with decent reviews and a lot of features for the price like the LED light which I thought was a nice touch. The helmet came in a larger box that also included my new welder. Upon opening the larger box I noticed that box was torn at the top as if someone tried to open it. Since it was in a larger box that was not damaged in any way you can't blame the shipping company for that one. When I opened the box the first thing I noticed was how heavy this helmet was compared to my old ones, it was about twice the weight at 2.79 lbs, not good for long duration welding. The other thing was the fact that it was missing the extra protective shields that was suppose to be included with the helmet. I wrote to Yes Welder about purchasing extras since I consider these consumables and didn't want to return the helmet just for that reason. The answer I got surprised me as I was told that they do not stock or sell extra protective shields and that I should check local welding supply shops. Yeah good luck with that. Why would you sell a welding helmet and not support it when it comes to consumables. The head gear looked pretty cheaply made and I was skeptical as to its longevity but it looked comfortable. Unfortunately the head gear was just about impossible to adjust properly for both distance to front lens as well as the tilt limit, it also jammed several times while trying to flip the helmet up or down. I was going to just return it for a refund but decided to give Yes Welder and Amazon another chance as I may have gotten a repacked return. I will do a followup review once I receive the replacement helmet. I really wanted to like this helmet but I also know that it is manufactured for a specific price point. Stay tuned!

just got mine today. it will be returned. first major problem (safety): the side shade panels DO auto dark, as described. but they DO NOT shade adjust. by my eye, comparing to adjusting the main panel, they're a shade 7-8. (the sensor triggers on my LED lights in the shop, so it's easy to fire and compare) second major problem (comfort) the main shade LCD is _very_ close to the face - I have what I'd describe as an "average white guy face" with typical nose. wearing this, I feel like Pinocchio or steve martin's C.D.B in Roxanne. I literally can't lower it down all the way because it sits against my nose. UPDATE: if you completely disassemble the hinge, there is an adjustment (3 positions). it....doesnt help. the options with all of the various headgear settings leave it tilted up, or resting on my nose. vs any of my other auto dark helmets, its clear that the curved outside face of the helmet requires the screen to be further toward the face. and there is no headgear adjustment to push it further out. third less major problem: the headgear is really really bad. you can't believe how bad it is. yeah, it looks all modern and cool. but just you wait. you'll be wishing for that 1985 era headgear without a ratchet knob that at least would hold the helmet where you mostly want it. I'd give it one star, except it DOES work (well, in testing, not welding), and it has really nice visibility. have not tested with welds because...well. I have a nose. other comments: the curved external face shield means you can't (literally) set it down on it's face. and if you DO set it on it's face or side, you will scratch the shield. it does come with 2 spare exterior shields, plus 2 sets of the 3 piece interior shields. and a bag. and a usb-c cord.

Picked this up as a replacement for a much older helmet with a super tiny viewing lens. The helmet is comfortable to wear due to its lightweight design. I really like the added ability to use this for grinding and plasma cutting which can save you time not having to switch out gear. The forward-facing lens is large and the panoramic view opens up the feel of the helmet even more additionally all 3 lenses auto-darken which is amazing. I like the protective cover over the adjustment knobs which helps prevent accidental adjustments. The LED lights are plenty bright and help with viewing in dark areas. I would suggest storing it in the included bag or a similar alternative to reduce the likelihood of battery drain. Quick tip: If you want to test the helmet after purchase use a TV remote and point it at the helmet while pressing a button. The IR frequencies from the remote will activate the auto-darkening feature on the helmet. I tried a few flashlights I had around and couldn't get it to activate consistently which made me think the helmet was defective but the TV remote did the job.
