I use the step platform at the higher height, which means that there are separate step pieces that click into place on the underside of the platform. My only complaint is that one of these pieces doesn’t click in tightly, and so it falls out if I lift the entire step platform to move it somewhere else. But I like the platform - it’s very sturdy and sits solidly on the floor even if I’m standing along one edge. Very good product.

For years I wanted an aerobic step bench but all I could find were the standard sizes and I didn't want to commit a space for it. Now I have this small bench and I couldn't be happier. Just 15 to 20 minutes a day, a beginner's routine that I find on You tube, and I'm all set for great exercise that doesn't cost me a membership at a gym. How convenient! I don't find it slippery or difficult to use, but like all exercise equipment, use good sense and pay attention while using it to be safe.

I am giving this 3 stars because of quality and strength. The legs are never going to go on without a fight and a rubber mallet. I’m tempted to just throw them away. The center “gives” when you step on it. I am avoiding the center. I am giving this 5 stars because I like it and NEED it anyway. I need a low, no legs, platform to step on / off to build some cardio and strengthen the muscles that support the bad knees. I am avoiding stepping on the center. I step near the ends as they seem strong and steady. I am Also giving it 5 stars because I needed something small that won’t take up space. I started on a low count and it immediately got my heart pumping. Low, flat — step up/down, front facing, left side, right side. Again, I really like it. I like the 18-inch length, it is light, easy to move out of the way and it can serve as a low footstool. So, it can be versatile. I am keeping the 3 stars because of my concerns for overall durability.
