After many, many years of buying (and throwing away) cheap extension cords, I finally paid a little extra and bought a high quality cord. It works wonderfully! It's heavier than the cheap ones you get at Bix Box Hardware, and definitely higher quality. I have had no issues using it for power tools, lights, etc. It's not as flexible as the cheaper cords, but it's not horribly stiff. The bright yellow color is easy to see and I really like that aspect of it. Treat yourself, buy a nice extension cord and tell your neighbors to buy their own! ... show more

High quality, heavy duty. This is my 2nd one. I had lesser quality ones from Home Depot that were double the price. This is the way to go. Amazon had it for $21 with coupon. Can’t beat it.

Unlike some recent extension cords I have tried out, this Yellow Jacket Heavy Duty Extension Cord is the real deal. Everything about this extension cord is super high quality. I needed to extend the length of the cord for my plug-in hybrid and this will allow me to safely carry the 15 amps a bit further. The most important part was the sockets not having any compromised connection to the cable. Most of the extension cords that I've reviewed had inferior connections that could be a fire hazard. I also like the lighted end to let me know that I forgot to unplug it after charging. The outer sheath has a nice plastic cover that should keep the cord protected from rain, grease, and grime for years to come. I'm highly impressed for the price point I paid. 5/5 stars. ... show more

What is there to say about an extension cord? The cord is nice and thick with a solid feeling plastic shell covering the wires. It works perfectly with my generator and heavy duty power tools such as a planar, table saw, lathe, etc. The cord end points are solidly attached to the cord so you don't have to worry about wear and tear showing wiring anytime soon. The only thing I don't really care for is the lighted ends. I'll never be using a cord this heavy duty in complete dark as that would be very dangerous with the equipment I use so the LED lights on the ends are just a waste of money and electricity. Because of the rather worthless inclusion of LED lights on the ends, I'm dropping one star. The only reason for the lights I can think of is detecting a short in the wire but you'd figure that one out anyways really fast even without the lights. ... show more

Worked at electric utility for 40+ years. These are the most often used cords I had. Come in lengths of 25 — 100 ft. Cost a little more than the skinny cords, but last longer and, in my opinion, are well worth it. Are plenty flexible, yellow color often saves you from tripping in dimly lit areas, and plug ends stay intact. Just a great tool for professional use. UPDATE TO UL QUESTION: These cords may show a CUL LABEL. THIS IS FOR CORDS SOLD IN CANADA. Canada has its own criteria for Cords for COOLING. If you open the second small picture box left of the product description, price, etc. you will see a box showing C on the left side and US on the right. I have 4 of these. I have used one of them in the past (and still do) to plug in my 30 amp rated camper, primarily to keep the battery charged. I have an adaptor that allows this to plug into my 30 amp cord. Not the best idea, I have also briefly used the AC in the camper with this cord supplying the power and that was a bit much for it. This cord is rated for 15 amps, I was pulling a lot more than that. The cable started generating some heat, I won't do that again - BUT the nice thing is this is over-engineered just enough to handle going over spec (at your own risk) for some amount of time. 15amps should never be a problem unless you daisy chain several of these together or otherwise engage in non best-practice electricity management. I have one of these cords sitting out in the harsh, Colorado elements for 4 years now, it has been buried in snow and ice, it has been in the blazing sun, and it is still working just fine. I finally bought a new one to replace the one I overheated when I abused it. If you plug this into a typical 15 amp circuit in your house, you won't have that issue. I have to give it 5 stars for not catching fire and surviving my torture tests when I put 30 amps through it, but you definitely shouldn't be doing that, just trust that it's a good cord and will deliver it's ratings without breaking a sweat. ... show more
