The media could not be loaded. After returning a siphon product with a squeeze bulb that didn’t work, this product literally made us laugh out loud at how awesome it is. Watch my video and see how all you have to do is pull the trigger 4 to 6 times and it draws everything in a constant stream. It’s marketed for a fish tank, which would obviously work, but we used it on our wall mounted water feature. The result was sensational. Pulled out all the stale water and gunk, never clogged. Couldn't be happier. Fair price, superior results, quick operation.

This is probably great for just sucking out mostly clear water but it failed on my first use out of the box, getting clogged internally with fish-poop sludge. By the time I was done with my 60 gallon tank it had little to no flow and was very frustrating. I'd love to know if I can easily take it apart to clean out the insides, which might make it much better. The tubing is of a very low quality but I understand it is a low cost item. If I can open it up to clean the insides I'd try to see if it works with standard size better quality tubing without being as frustrated. I then switched to a much less expensive type with an air bladder that you squeeze to get the flow going which worked great without any of these problems which is probably what I'll stick to.

Edit: The seller contacted me and offered a full refund, so I'm moving this back up from 1 to 4 stars. I also took it apart and found the tubes not screwed in enough. After screwing them in, the air problem went away, but when i screwed it in too tight, the one-way-flow flaps stopped working properly. I loosened them up a bit and it works good half the time, but the other half, it still simply does not suck water up when squeezing. I can only think that the one-way flaps are getting hung up on sand or something. Original: This thing does not maintain a vacuum so syphoning is impossible with the tubes attached. I could not find where air was getting in. A syphon would only work for about 5 seconds before the vacuum was lost and I'd have to squeeze the trigger again. Easier to just bale the water out. Without the tubes attached and with the "gun" tip submerged, it works fine, but not with even one tube. Perhaps mine is defective and I would be willing to update my review if the seller is willing to send one that worked.

If you are going to have a medium to large aquarium this is a must have to help clean the gravels and sand. While this is a fairly large size it is easy to handle while trying to siphon out the gunk from the bottom of your tank. Products are very durable as I have had this quite a while now and cleaned many tanks with ease. Functions as it should by only sucking up what can fit thru the filter section. If I needed another, I would buy this exact one again

I’ve had this vacuum for almost a year, and it was working really well. I liked the different lengths of tubes, ability to control the speed of the flow, and the trigger action to create suction. However, it has recently been knocked down to 3 stars because once the pump gets clogged, it is impossible empty it. I accidentally had the suction on high and it slurped up the gravel from my small tank like a dog with marshmallow on its tongue. When I tried to open up the pump to get the gravel out, found that its 2 halves are secured by 2 different types of screws. One type (3/5 screws) is a simple 4-groove ‘cross shape’ Philips head. The second type (2/5) requires a 3-groove type of screwdriver head that I’ve never seen before, and I have a decent selection of screwdriver options. I do not recommend this product if you want to be able to clean out the pump, unless you have that unusual driver head.

It's an OK siphon, not 5 star cause the tube is too stiff. It comes coiled up and it is so stiff that it still has the bends. To start the siphon you pull the trigger. In theory this should start the siphon. In practice id does not and I suck on the end of the tube to start the siphon. It comes with a clip to keep the end of the tube in the bucket. That clip is FAR to soft. I clipped the tube to my bucket and almost immediately came out cause the tube is too stiff and it has the curls. A plus is that there is a sponge at the top of the gravel cleaning area. This stops it from sucking up gravel. I have had other syphons that are happy to suck the gravel out of the tank and stick it in the bucket. All in all this fails miserably at the things it says it does, except suck water out for a change.
