Description

A Heavyweight Horn with Pro-level Sound The Yamaha YTR-8335IIRS Xeno fuses high-level craftsmanship with outstanding instrument design and advanced technology to bring you a professional-level trumpet with maximum power and projection. The YTR-8335IIRS's corrosion-resistant monel alloy valves are housed in an extra-thin valve casing, and its modified branch tube (knuckle) angle facilitates a snappy response and unrestricted playability. This trumpet's 0.459-inch bore elicits a massive sound that doesn't break up when you push it; its reversed leadpipe offers smooth resistance and airflow, along with a rich, harmonic-laden tone. You also get a 1-piece, 4-7/8-inch, yellow brass bell with an annealed design for powerful tone and amazing upper- register playability. On-the-fly tuning adjustments are easy, thanks to this horn's first valve slide saddle. What's more, its silver-plated brass body lends a brilliant sheen to every note you play. If you're searching for a heavyweight, high-performance horn for symphonic, jazz ensemble, or commercial

This is a awesome horn. Had it for 6 days now and it is great. The valves have very smooth action and are quiet. I upgraded to this from a 4325s. I can produce a darker tone in the lower register even with my shallow mouthpiece. My range did come out of the pocket just a little bit because I was so used to the resistance and standard leadpipe on my 4325s but I just need to adjust to the horn. Almost already have it back in the pocket after 6 days. The only con that I have about this trumpet is that there is no spit valve on the third valve slide so the spit get trapped in there often and comes out through the bell. I used it this morning playing at a Disneyland marathon and the spit did come out through the bell quite often. Other than that, the trumpet is great. The case is nice too. You can fit two trumpets in it. ... show more

I've owned my Yamaha Xeno for about 8 years now. I don't play like I used to, but I regularly performed Jazz gigs internationally, as well as playing occasional concert and symphonic music. The horn is incredible. Best thing is your sound can change drastically by using a different mouthpiece. I also used this horn before and after performing with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps in DCI. I've never played a trumpet that provided sound and company like this one. I will never part with it because of how amazing it is! ... show more

    • it's a good quality horn
I have owned this horn for awhile now and let me tell you, it's a good quality horn. Produces a good quality sound. For me, I get more of a rounded bright sound, which I like.
