The Yamaha YAS-62III is a very good saxophone- Really made playing for me a pleasure. Not quite the top of the line Yamaha, but way better than the student versions. Plays in tune in both registers. Haven't tried altissimo, (I'm not good enough) It's allowed my playing to improve dramatically. Very free blowing, no issues with leaks or fitment. If you can afford this upgrade, I say go for it. So far it's had no issues, Probably played about 30 hours in the first couple of weeks of ownership. I don't expect it to have any issues - Case is not hard sided, but rather a soft side case but it holds the instrument securely. The silver finish is nice, and different than the normal gold finish seen on most saxophones. ... show more

This is a fantastic horn. I've played Selmers and Bueschers, and purchased this Yamaha after playing a Conn 6M for several years. The action on the Yamaha is great, the tone is great, I'm having a wonderful time with it. I'm using a Meyer 5 and a Harry Hartmann medium soft Fiberreed.

    • Counterfeit saxophone
Just had a part break on my sons saxophone and sent it off to get it fixed. It came back saying that it is a counterfeit saxophone!! I paid an outrageous amount of money for this and to find out it is a fake!!!

    • Amazing quality saxophone definitely worth it.
I bought this saxophone for my son who is currently learning the instrument in school, and it was an amazing decision. The saxophone comes in a very lightweight case (with shoulder straps to turn it into a backpack), and comes with everything needed to play and maintain it (besides reeds). It has a beautiful sound quality and looks great in a silver color. I definitely recommend this saxophone to other buyers. ... show more
