As a band teacher I bought this for our old beat-up bari when the previous pro-level mouthpiece broke. The student playing it took to it immediately. Nice beginning Bari mouthpiece. Nothing special, but works great for a beginning Bari player. Lots of good clean loud sound and easy to learn on. Works good with the Yamaha YAC-1617 ligature.

It worked as it should. Obviously this isn't the most expensive and highest end mouth piece, but its a great price for a basic item. I just love Amazon. Before Amazon, everything I needed would have generated a trip to a different store. Now, if I need something – just about anything, I go and look at Amazon first. It’s amazing that I can buy everything from cereal, dog food, nail products, clothing, household items and electronics. For instance, buying this Bari mouth piece is just another example of the wonder that is Amazon. I have been very impressed with the huuuge selection on Amazon. I don’t think there is anything that you can’t buy on Amazon, short of perishable foods. Most of the time you can the items cheaper than you can in the local store, but not always. Then we have the additional spectacular invention that is Amazon prime. This praise and rant doesn’t mean that I think Amazon is perfect, and I have had a few problems here and there, but over all – Amazon is my go to place for everything I need to buy, except groceries.     • Bang for your buck
My son has tried many mouthpieces ranging from over $250 to $30. The one that gave him the most pleasing, clean sound that he was looking for was this one and it happened to be the least expensive. We ended up buying a second one so he could have one at home and one at school and not have to take the bari back and forth. This is a great product and I would recommend skipping the expensive mouthpieces, they don't give you any better quality! ... show more

I have 4 kids that play saxophone (bari's, tenor and alto) and we have purchased several different Yamaha mouth pieces. They are great quality for the money. Perfect for a student that wants to sound great, but easy on the parents' budget.

I was joining concert band in college and had to get this ASAP, they really ship it quickly, received it in a short time. Recommend it to bari sax players who don't own an instrument and also looking for a good mouthpiece with a reasonable price. Really good quality and packaging of the items.

Nice soft, mellow sound. Speaks easily throughout the range of the horn. Volume is limited. More of a concert band mouthpiece than jazz.
