I had avoided synthetic valve oil until the purchase of my Yamaha Zeno trumpet (and I have owned several other high end trumpets). In the past I had tried about every oil out there and always had to oil my valves every 2-3 days, regardless of brand. Since this is the oil which came with my new horn I gave it a try and I'm sold!!!! With synthetic I can go weeks without oiling my valves (I put in several hours playing every day). Most of the times I have oiled my valves have been out of guilt.....just because I've gone so long without oiling them.
