I have a very old baby grand and have had it tuned and taken care of as needed yearly. My piano technician had recommended a humidifier system to keep the wood/inside from becoming to brittle. We use this product regularly. We live in the south and is quite humid in the summer, but I keep a thermostat in the room and note that when it drop to a dry humidity period, the system kicks in automatically. I usually mix up household chemicals myself. In this case benzalkonium chloride seems too toxic to handle, so I settled for this premixed formulation. No bacteria growing in the piano humidifier.
