Yes it feels flimsy. This stand supports my trumpet with no problem. It folds up nicely so as to take up minimal space and it's easy to figure out how. I don't kick it around, i don't bash it, and I definitely don't slam the trumpet into it. It pays me back by holding my horn for me.     • Feels a bit "cheap", but ultimately stable.

Compared to the "name brand" trumpet stand that's been a standard for many years (but also costs 3x as much), this definitely does not feel as nice. The knurled base that you turn to assemble/disassemble is much thinner than on the name brand, so it's a bit harder to grip. The legs do unfold quickly into place--unlike some of the other lower-costs stands I've seen where the legs are too stiff. Even when fully tightened, the unfurled legs still have a bit of play to them, and they feel thin enough that they could easily break. With all of that said, if you're reasonably careful, this could be a good value for the price. Even with the shortcomings listed above, it is ultimately stable. The velvet-touch padding should keep it from scratching the bell. So, for an older player, maybe not in a school setting, this could be fine. ... show more
