We needed something in the kitchen for food storage because there are only cabinets above the sink for dishes. I also wanted a drawer for dish towels, and it had to house my toaster oven. I looked at every similar option on Amazon, and they all had some pretty terrible reviews. So I decided to just get the cheapest one that I liked and go for it. I'd rather have inexpensive junk than overpriced junk. Item arrived quickly, the box was a little beat up but it was packaged well and nothing missing or broken. I had a serious chuckle while taking pieces out the box, remembering the review complaining of how the styrofoam made such a huge mess. This thing has glass doors, would you prefer they not use styrofoam? I just cut box open and lifted each board out, carefully brushing them off over the open box to remove the small loose particles and when I was done I folded the box back up and carried it out to the garbage with all the debris inside. Just use a little common sense. My first serious advice would be do not start putting this thing together at 11pm like we did. It took my spouse and I 4 hours to complete the project, with a 15 minute sandwich break halfway through. There's a ton of pre-assembly to do with all of the hardware. We didn't run into any serious problems like missing predrilled holes, but a few of the holes for wooden dowels were slightly too big so we just stuffed little bits of toilet paper in them until the dowels fit snug. I know, wood glue would have been better but we weren't making a midnight run to the store for glue. The instructions were a bit obscure at times, but I think anyone with at least an eighth grade reading and comprehension skill set should be able to get through them. They were by no means as undecipherable as others described. It's my opinion that the people complaining about this cabinet are just too incompetent to be building their own furniture. All in all we're pleased with the end result. It looks great in our kitchen, and it's spacious without being bulky. The only issue is the drawer tries to catch because we couldn't get the screws inside to go flush against the wood, but it's not a huge deal. You just have to give it a firm hand. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I'm disappointed that the handles are only plastic. If you're going to sell me cheap particle board at least give me halfway decent handles. Edit** I realized that we put the backing on upside down because the precut hole is much too high, but it doesn't matter for us because my toaster oven has a rounded back so it can hold a full sized pizza and I didn't want the cord going across it in the middle anyways. We used a utility knife to cut a small hole nearer the shelf on the side the cord is on so it can go straight back and out instead of up and over that bubble in the back of the oven. ... show more

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect piece for the kitchen. I will admit I read the reviews and shyed away, but decided to take a chance. My husband and I put this together in about 2 hours. And if you are patient and make sure you follow the instructions, it fits together absolutely PERFECT!! Take your time, but definitely worth the buy!! ... show more

  • It's really not bad
Size: White
First thing I wanna say is, because of the packaging, it can get REALLY messy. Like, the styrofoam went EVERYWHERE, so have your vacuum on hand if you're not very good at taking things out ever so carefully. Second, before you put the cabinet together, go through the instructions booklet, and just do a simple check off list before you start building. I know some people on here said it didn't come with all the parts, so just do it for the sake of not getting half way through building, and finding out you can't finish it. Once everything is checked off and accounted for, and you've got the mess it makes cleaned up, as long as you follow the booklet, and check to make sure you're using the RIGHT pieces (one of my pieces was misnumbered so double check), it is really not that difficult to put together, definitely don't miss the pre-assembly bit like I did the first time, and check to make sure you're dowels and door springs aren't going to fall out because they will (they'e not attached to anything, they just sit in the hole to make it sturdier) One more helpful tip; when you're first putting it together, the middle support to the bottom half is the FRONT of the cabinet, so when you're putting it together make sure everything is facing the right way so you're not taking it apart and putting it back together again. Having and allen wrench head or bit to a power drill or an L wrench (which it provides) is also very helpful, cause you'll be screwing a lot of those in. Overall, it is beautiful. Holds everything I need it to in my very small kitchen, and is sturdy. It is really not all that difficult to put together. Side note; there was a little bit of damage to a corner, but barely ANYTHING to fret about, and the handles are plastic. So be careful screwing those in or you'll strip the holes on the inside of them. ... show more

  • Beautiful Cabinet For Careful Assembler
Size: White
I just want to put out there I have a lot of experience with putting together furniture; almost every item in my house I have built. I put this together in about 4 hours, and I love it. It is exactly what I wanted. I have no missing pieces, and almost every piece was labeled. The directions were clear enough, but you do need to put some thought and common sense into it while assembling. I also had and issue with some holes, specifically in the upper doors with the glass windows, not being present to guide the screws, but I do have a drill, so I was able to fix that easily. I would recommend for anyone with experience in assembling this kind of furniture, and having a drill might be helpful if your set had the same issue as mine. It is not hard to assemble, but you want to take your time to make sure it's done right and you don't mess up the cabinet. ... show more
