    • Fun to play, sounds great
Size: 612VII Color: Mist Green
Review Image by TW
I ordered this guitar from Amazon about a year ago and it is my go-to guitar. It is worth noting that the mist green finish is way more mist than it is green. It's definitely a gray guitar. I included a pic with a green sharpie for reference. Also, ordering online would make it easy to overlook that it comes with medium frets not medium jumbo. Again, it plays great and I love the medium frets, but worth noting if you prefer the bigger frets. My only real issue is that the pickups don't have a lot of variation in tone. They all sound great, but they don't sound a lot different. ... show more

    • The Perfect Blend of Versatility, Tone, and Craftsmanship.
Size: 612VII Color: Indigo Blue
The Yamaha Pacifica 612 is an outstanding guitar that blends exceptional craftsmanship, versatility, and great tone. With its sleek alder body, stunning flame maple top, and smooth satin neck, it’s a joy to play. The combination of Seymour Duncan pickups delivers a wide range of tones, from sparkling cleans to rich, powerful overdrive. The Wilkinson tremolo stays in tune, and the overall build quality is rock-solid. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, the Pacifica 612 offers incredible value and performance in every note. Highly recommended! ... show more

    • Waited 30 years and,....what a bummer
Size: 612VII Color: Indigo Blue
I dug Pacificas since back in the '80's when Michael Lee Firkins was ripping on them. Always wanted one and recently had the chance with one of these 612's. Mine SHOULD have been a great guitar, for the $$ or even more, except for two things: a) Mine had a warped neck, as verified by one of the best luthiers in Austin, TX and me, and b) Why in the world did Yamaha agree to partner with Grover to launch/semi-introduce these unnecessarily dodgy locking tuners that offer NO competitive advantage and add only a diversionary headache? What a mess! Again, no advantage, added headache. I had high hopes for this guitar. It was well made, etc. But a warped neck is the tell-tale sign of you-know-what craftsmanship, the worst. I'm still puzzled that this came from Yamaha, but life is short and it is what it is. ... show more

Three Seymour Duncan pickups makes nice sound, definitely love the Wilkinson bridge and Grover tuner. The only problem is there a gap between the pickguard and the humbuker, which does not look good. Ther are some dirty in the fingerboard which do not come off, maybe white paint? Over a great guitar, definitely worth it; craftsmanship need to be improve to make it perfect. ... show more

    • Do it.
Size: 612VII Color: Yellow Natural Stain
This Guitar is excellent. Nice mix of pickups so if you want that clean single coil Strat sound, you can have it. If you want the Gibson humbucker sound, you have it. And then there's a bunch in-between. The cutaway is great too, no issues on that front. If there's anything particular I can say about the guitar though, it's that the action is legitimately perfect. You cannot beat this on the action. I've played some expensive guitars and they felt like junk in comparison. Cons: I find the cable plug gets loose EASY. Swap the washer on that if you can find the size for it. Maybe put a little bit of rubber on it to keep it from getting loose. Not a major complaint by any means, but something I've noticed and had to correct. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who has been playing for a few years and really wants something solid that will cover a wide range of playstyles. I would go so far as to say it can be a solid studio piece if you needed it to be. I'd recommend it to a beginner guitarist too, but I'd warn that you should play a Squire or an Epiphone entry level guitar for a year first, just so you can see the difference. You shouldn't start on this thing, it would be cheating. Long story short, this guitar has ruined my appreciation for most Fender and Gibsons I've played and owned. I barely play my Gibson anymore, and every time I pick up the Yamaha I feel like my SG is judging me. ... show more

    • Needs to be Setup / packaging needs to improve
Size: 612VII Color: Fired Red
Expect to pay do intonation adjustments on this instrument, as it was not serviced before shipping. Amazon shipped this package in only the manufacture's packaging, nothing special or extra to keep it secure. The package i receive was torn on one side and the tape was broken... Nothing holding the guitar in the box, when i picked it up it almost fell out. This is pretty poor packaging from amazon since this is an expensive item. ... show more
