These are hard to find, and I think I got the last one that Amazon had in stock a couple of weeks ago (something that seems to be true for other online vendors as well). Here's hoping that they get another shipment. If they do and you have the urge, get it! I'm not a percussionist, but this is a great deal of fun and works well in performance or in the studio. It's got a large variety of percussion sounds and connects well to other digital devices or amplification systems. This is something too I'd like to get for grandkids who really enjoy it as well. I've had several Yamaha digital and acoustic pianos over the years. Their instruments are beautifully made, durable, and affordable in a market in which this isn't always the case. ... show more

If they did some minor upgrades it would be great. Why not include a foot switch input so you can control the kick drum to make it feel much more like an e-kit?

I liked this product a lot until it broke. They made the terrible decision to use flimsy micro USB port for power. Lasted about 60 days and then the USB socket broke off inside the machine. $200 product becomes garbage because of this terrible design decision. It now can't get power. I was happy with this product so I threw away the packaging and now i don't think i have any recourse to return it. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU NEED IT TO LAST MORE THAN A FEW MONTHS. I took a chance that this was more than a crappy toy, and now i regret it. ... show more

I thoroughly tested and played this for quite a while at the recent NAMM show in Anaheim California. I even had a Yamaha Rep there to answer any and all questions. The pads felt nice but If they could just make this thing maybe 25% bigger, it would be easier to play in my opinion. To me this is a toy for someone who has never played. ALL they would need to do to make THIS a game changer is to #1 Make it a wee bit bigger and the MOST IMPORTANT change they should do to make this ready for Prime TIme is #2 ADD a Kick-Drum Input (velocity sensitive) AND a Hi-Hat pedal Input (open and closed). Then and only then is this even worth a 2nd look in my opinion. At that point any level player (or beginner) would have the options they prefer to do whatever they want.
