I used this mouthpiece for a couple of years. You get a pretty good mouthpiece for the price. It is very affordable and lasts long enough. The only thing I had trouble with was playing my high notes (with palm keys) since they take me some time to come out, they still don't sound right. I found that with a higher quality mouthpiece, my high notes came out immediately and sounded so much better. I am relearning the Saxophone and my Sax comes with a clunky mouthpiece; it made my jaws sore to even practice with it, so I went on the hunt for mouthpieces and came up with this gem. It's Yamaha's standard mouthpiece that comes with all their intermediate and professional horns, it immediately made me sound better and my jaws (chops) didn't hurt, and I was able to practice for longer. ..for the basic mouthpiece that comes with the Mendini and producing much better sound. Re-learning the sax after 40+ years. Creates a great entry level setup for under $250. This mouthpiece does NOT come with a ligature but still a great deal IMO.

Listen. Unless you have a hundred dollars to go spend on a mouth piece, then get this. Works great. Tones great. Overall the most basic and standard mouth piece to get as it's neither good, nor bad.

I am playing an older Yamaha YAS-21 alto. This mouthpiece completely transformed the tone quality and ease of playing the horns entire register. At the price offered, it's a steal. Highly recommend!
