The adjustment handle siezed on mine after using just 5 times, Cheap plastic junk! Oftentimes weights would not fully release when selecting a lower weight this would cause them to drop off the dumbell while being lifted from the rack, very unsafe. The dumbbells are constructed using rivets not bolts so theres no way to dissasemble to repair or lubricate. The single ratcheting handle design is inferior to the bowflex design which has 2 sliding adjustment cylinders per dumbell offering more durability and safety, in addition theres no way to release weights if they get stuck, such as happened with mine. I give 1 star because of the quality and durability I have no confidence this product would hold up for any length of time. ... show more

Great set of adjustable dumbbells. Purchased to supplement my plate loaded dumbell barbells. Found myself implementing more into my workout due to the ease of switching weights. Now I can keep a barbell loaded heavy if I want to go heavier than this set allows, and just use this up to that point. Why did you pick this product vs others?: So far so good, although their length makes them a little awkward on moves that require closer placement of the hands together. Bought these over other models because the weight goes up in 2.5lb increments, rather than 5lb, making finer adjustments easier, and it goes up to 28.5lbs, versus 25lbs. Like all models, they use a post in the base to unlock the weights, time will tell whether this plastic will wear down. Am making sure to gently place the weights in the base to avoid this wear and tear. ... show more

Revised review after 5 months of use - These are dangerous and should be recalled!!! They're very bottom heavy and want to twist in your hand if you're not just doing something like dumbell lifts from floor. Today, while doing dumbbell presses on my bench, I heard a click on one and when I was sitting back up, one of the weights fell off and buzzed my ear. It looks like one side of the dumbbell clicked down a notch, so I cant get it back together so that I can at least use it for bent over rowing or something. ... show more
