3 of THE MOST important things you should know before buying this item is: 1. You NEED to be sure you have strong supports in your ceiling before hanging this swing. Sturdy support beams, strong studs, whatever the case may be, just be sure you have something that can hold your weight PLUS SOME, especially if you have a kid that would like to join you in the swing. The listing says the chair can hold up to 500 pounds, but that doesn't mean that you CEILING can hold that much. Please be safe, please be cautious! 2. The chair WILL NOT sit exactly as pictured. In the picture, it seems like the chair has some solid structure, that it will sit open and reclined without an issue. The picture is certainly a form of false advertisement. If you look at the pictures I posted, that is how your chair will REALLY sit, even with the pillows added. It is nothing more than sturdy fabric, it has no real structure, and will droop and fold in on itself. This can make it a little difficult to get into until you learn the tricks. 3. WATCH. YOUR. HEAD! Especially if someone else is resting in the swing, the support bar may sit just at head level, and if the chair actually swings or twists, you will have to deal with a metal bar to the face. Protect your head! That being said, I do not regret my purchase! No, it's not as solidly structured as I was made to believe, but it is very sturdy and rather comfortable. I choose to use the swing without pillows, as that added pressure point on my back made it a little uncomfortable for me, but the pillows come in handy to support your head when you are just relaxing and watching some television. I've had mine for just under 3 months, and it sees CONSTANT use between me, my husband, and my 6 year old, and there is no signs of wear and tear. The tassles at the bottom are the only thing that hasn't survived these last couple months, but that is honestly just cosmetic and doesn't effect the structure of the swing itself. You can easily remove the tassles, and it won't make any differents to the swing at all. And you can avoid getting your toes caught in the strings! I would not recommend sleeping in this chair, as your back will be very sore in the morning, but it is good for just casual resting. You can hang a blanket over the support bar and make a little enclosed space for yourself. The pocket is large enough to hold a decent sized book, which also makes it perfect for snacks, bottles of pop, your cell phone, and small stuffed animals. ... show more

I purchased this for my teenaged daughters room. It is a beautiful neutral chair with nice detailing. She uses it daily. The only thing I dont love is that the back of the chair sags in on itself when no one is sitting in it causing it to look a little frumpy. Overall though, it is a cute chair and she says it is very comfortable. It should be noted that the chair does need to be screwed into a stud in your ceiling so you have to hope you have a stud in the area you want it. It requires a large bolt to be screwed through your plaster/ceiling. This is not a problem for us, but it may be for people renting homes. ... show more

I was a little skeptical, but I’ve always wanted one of these for my porch. I’m approx 200 lbs and I’m 5’4”. It is the best 50 dollars I have ever spent. WELL WORTH IT. It’s so extremely comfortable. I sit in it while I do my course work for school. If you’re thinking about getting it, do it. You will not be disappointed. I had my fiancé hang it and he said it was really simple. You just need a drill. Sitting in it, it lays back just enough to be comfortable without feeling like you’re laying down. I sit in it cross legged and there’s plenty of room. I do use one of the pillows behind my head when I’m doing school work though, just to be propped up a little more. Honestly I don’t even need the pillows it comes with to sit on - it’s THAT comfortable. I actually want to get another one for my porch so someone else can sit with me. This swing is great for my 10 year old daughters room and would be great for any play room or chic space. My kids love sitting in it and although they don't have a natural love for reading, I can get them to read if I tell them to get some books and go sit in the swing. 👍👍 It looks super cute with a throw over the back and some cute pillows. The biggest problems that I see are that it is very difficult to install in you're putting it into a ceiling that is finished and doesn't have exposed beams and rafters. The round plate that fits the screws into the beam is too wide for a 2"ceiling joist so only 2 screws can secure into the ceiling, not 4. My husband had to create a "mount" that secured into the joist and then attached the swing to the mount. Not the end of the world... But definitely had to use a little creative thinking and work to allow us to hang the swing. Again, not a problem if rafters are exposed or you have a swing stand. Another minor issue is that the back of the swing sags and doesn't look as formed as the images make it appear. We just threw a blanket over the back with some pillows and it isn't as noticable. Lastly, be sure not to hang it too close to the wall or the pole/brace across the top of the swing will dent the wall or door frame nearby. We bought silicone barstool "caps" that are supposed to be used on the feet of barstools and put them on the ends of the bracing pole to keep it from denting the wall. That has helped a lot! Lastly, we wrapped the chain in jute to cover up the chain. Not great... but looks better than what it did. Overall, we really like the swing and would buy again for my others daughters' rooms! ... show more

It’s sturdy for sure!! I have it in my comfort shed for relaxing. I’ve used maybe a handful of times so far and I would say my only complaint is the length of it. To really get comfortable I kind of fold my legs up because when they hang it hurts underneath. That’s why I have that wood under it, even though I did what the directions said and my feet touch the ground while I’m sitting, I added that for a little lift. But I love it still very pleasing to the eye and I forgot to say it does sway very gently so that’s really soothing. ... show more
