My old buffin wheel finally gave up the ghost, and I use it so rarely, I just couldn’t justify buyin a big name one. This on was just the right price and runs at just the right speed for my needs. I do custom leatherwork and many times folks drop off their knives needin a new sheath and the knife’s finish is a bit rough. If’n I know they ain’t real cowboys, I polish the blades a bit, cause I know they’ll appreciate the extra attention to detail when making them a custom sheath. If’n they’re real cowboys, I leave the blade finish alone so I don’t get a look of bewilderment at why I would waste time polishing a work knife. I needed a small buffer for metal polishing, including guitar frets and hardware. This fit the bill perfectly., I did not want to spend a ton of money and found that I didn't have to. I build all my tool stands using simi brake drums and schedule 40-8" pipe . It makes a heavy duty stand that will not tip over. This polishing motor has good torque and suits my needs very well. Good price for what it is. No vibration. I read a review stating it was dangerous?? I've been polishing for over 55 years and have found what makes a machine dangerous is the person being careless. Treat it with respect and you'll be safe. I polish large motor parts down to custom carburetors and do it safety. It can be done.
