First-off - I don't have enough words to praise how awesomely built this product is. The Red color makes it look better than any other competitor in the market. Now coming to the review part. I am hoping this review will not be taken in negative way, even though I am going to only mention the downside of using it. However, these downside only applies to New Users. OKAY - so you are super impressed with what you can do with laser cutters/engravers, have seen bunch of cool videos from professionals on Youtube and now you think 'I CAN DO THIS'. Well - Here is the REALITY CHECK 1. This tool has a huge learning curve around measurements. If you have struggled your whole life until now between Inch, CM, mm - Do Not Buy this product. Everything is Manual. Some might say semi-automatic, but again; if you struggle with measurements - this product won't make it easy for you 2. No Camera - This goes back to point#1, since the tool does not have projection camera to capture image of the item you plan to cut or engrave, there is a possibility of a lot of errors and waste of material. 3. Assembly - Although, I will say assembly is super-easy. There is a possibility that someone might tighten the belt too much resulting in error, or break the delicate wire connector or even worst, drop the lens. If you do buy it - just look at the assembly video on YouTube and avoid instruction manual. So What Should You Do? Save some money and buy - xTool M1 10w. WHY? Well - because it is ready to use out of the box. It has a camera to capture the material image and project your design on it. This is so insanely awesome, that you can literally design things with minimal mathematical calculations. Who should use this tool? If you know your stuff, have been engraving for a while - This is a very economic product and will do the job just as fine as xTool M1 10w. xTool - If you make these distinctions clear in your product comparisons, I think it will reduce the number of returns and exchanges will happen. Also - There needs to be a very articulated training videos/lessons for newbies. I did see some videos, but they are a half-hearted attempt.

I got this laser to up my wood working capabilities. It works great for engraving wood, slate, glass and scorching metal (It doesn’t engrave metal, but does leave a mark). It takes some time to learn the programming and the programming is a little under powered. There are other options like Light Burn that are better, however I have not had time to try it yet. This laser will cut up to 1/2” pine. It will also cut (3mm) 1/8” in 1 pass. Past that it is pretty much an engraver. I will say an air assist is a must have for this unit. The air assist helps with deep cuts and keep the scorching down on thinner cuts. Also there is a lot of smoke created so an enclosure is also recommended (I vented mine out the window). Over all this is a good little laser, good enough that I bought a second with the rotary attachment.

This is a great laser when it is working. Not made for everyday use and parts were out quick. I have had to replace the motherboard twice, laser head three times and I have had 3 replacement laser and kits. Losing connection all the time with with laser enclosure and can’t trust the laser to work correctly more then two times on same project. We have only been able to complete 12 small Christmas ornaments and 4 laser engraved photo in little over 1 year. Not worth the money. We had over 50 projects fail in little then year.

Easy to operate and use. However, after using it for 2 months I started to get false limit errors. I tried customer service during normal business hours according to the website only to not reach anyone. The chat is bullcrap. 5 stars for quality work but if I can give negative stars for customer service I sure would. If you buy this machine better hope you don't have any issues, or you're stuck with a faulty machine.

My first laser and it’s pretty easy to learn. The instructions kind of suck so you’ll have to youtube some videos. The software is also great, but again you’ll have to youtube a bunch of how to videos. Cuts very cleanly and you can make some really intricate pieces. I would recommend you get the enclosure. It does make a lot of smoke so unless you have the enclosure and vent going outside, you won’t want to use this in your house. It is the perfect beginner laser though.

I love my 10w D1 Pro! I had no idea it would be so useful. I literally use it all the time for a variety of purposes. It's a must if you are a woodworker. You can engrave inspirational quotes on your wood creations which add a personal touch. D1 Pro is a great machine. It consistently works without fail. Great quality! I really appreciate the customer service too. They responded quickly with helpful information when I needed assistance. I love to watch their videos for creative ideas too.

Make signs, engraved tumblers, add you name to your tools or “from the kitchen of” to your pyrex dish before you loan it out, make crochet blocking boards, embossed leather portfolios, and on and on. Enjoyable crafts, nice results and pretty easy to work with for a novice. Minus one star for the extensive permission you must give xTool if you want to use the wireless system, but you can still use it with a USB cord.

I started out with a 5w unit and was amazed. I then upgraded to this 10w unit Sept 2022. This unit is working flawlessly and I recommend Xtool products over others. Quality packaging, instructions and support. I cut a cross out and saved the outer scrap to make a ornament out of it. Saving up for my next upgrade, maybe 40w enclosed unit. 😉
