Quick heads-up for anyone installing this: The printed instructions list a "wireless dongle" in the package contents, but they never mention its location. (Online guides do cover it, but here's the shortcut to save frustration.) The dongle is hidden inside the filter compartment on the bottom of the Air Assist unit. Pop off the access cover, and it's right there—easy once you know. Installation on the M1 Ultra is straightforward: Plug in the unit, connect the hose to the back expansion port, and select "Auto" mode in the software. It handles on/off and pressure adjustments perfectly—no issues. I've seen reviews complaining about a missing dongle or a special cable for auto mode, but mine worked flawlessly out of the box with the M1 Ultra. (I actually returned two units before finding the dongle location—then support stepped in.) Speaking of which, xTool's customer service is outstanding. After my returns and near-third return, their team reached out proactively, guided me through the fix, and got everything running smoothly. They truly stand behind their products—rare these days. Bottom line: If you have the M1 Ultra, this Air Assist is a game-changer for cleaner cuts, less charring, and better efficiency. Just check the bottom compartment first, and lean on their support if needed. Highly recommend!

X-Tool didn't pack a key piece of this order and they have not followed through with shipping the necessary part to us in order to fix their mistake. Definitely NOT happy with X-Tool...

Not a great unit. It is so loud that I thought it was defective but it turns out that's just how it sounds (based on two replacement units). Kind of like a fork in a garbage disposal mixed with a dieing cat. The original model is far superior and I would avoid until the next version is released.

Does not work for Xtool M1. Wish they would be a little helpful on collaborating products together then just piecing together items based on your search and interests. I returned it since I had no use for it. Do wish though customer services was a little better at getting back with you on questions and answers

I’m going to start off with a complaint because I feel that is most important. Why doesn’t xtool include the cable to connect the air assist to the machine?! Seriously, for $250, you’d think they should include a cable so that I don’t need to manually turn it on every time and turn it off after a project is done. Nowhere in the description does it include information about the cable or if it is “sold separately.” You just kind of expect it to be in there. Their photo is semi misleading because you focus on the main unit and less on the cables. The power supply is 2 separate cables. At a glance, I’m thinking it’s 1 power and 1 cable to connect the machine. It also shows a USB-C thumb drive looking thing in the photo that I did not find in the kit. After checking every photo and every word in the description 10 times, I can say definitively that the custom proprietary cable is not included. You will have to pay an extra $7.66 plus shipping if you want that. This could have easily been a USB-C instead of a proprietary cable or simply just included with a $250 accessory, but for some reason, Xtool wanted to frustrate their customers and grab an extra $8. The good: My S1 40watt works so much better at cutting thicker materials now. It used to take 10 passes to cut through and would burn the heck out of the project if I had to cut more than 1/8”. Now I can cut through 1/2” soft wood material like cedar and pine in 4 passes with ease and no details lost from excessive burning. I have not tried the other air assist accessories, so I have nothing to compare this to. I am also kind of new to cutting thicker materials, so the overburn I am getting while using this air assist could just be a part of a learning curve or a problem with cutting thicker materials in general.
