The media could not be loaded. Works well so far! (As far as opening and closing.) Seems sturdy, it has a nice weight to it. I find it difficult to shut, after opening, using the strap that has a small velcro patch on it. I think it needs to be a little longer, because I'm afraid it may tear at the seam. I haven't been able to try it out in a good storm yet, but it worked well in a light shower. Will update if I encounter any issues. Looks promising. ... show more

Just what I needed for the rainy season. It's very nice and well made. Comes very compact when closed up, easy to carry and take on the go. With the push of a button, it opens up and is ready to go. I think it will stay against strong wind and last many years (if I don't lose it). It is compact enough to fit into side pockets of most backpacks. The media could not be loaded. I have owned many umbrellas. Most were purchased last minute while travelling during rain storms. Typically the cheapest umbrellas were purchased. In essence, I have a closet full of cheap flimsy umbrellas. For my recent trip to Copenhagen, I opted for Scandinavian sensibility and adherence to design and function. I realize that this umbrella is not made in Denmark, but I was thoroughly impressed by it's design and effectiveness. This umbrella is not cheap and is made from premium metal and fabric. It has 12 ribs ... 6 more than my worthless umbrellas. It is sturdy and does not buckle in strong winds. I've experienced gusts where the umbrella was severely strained from the wind, but the canopy did not buckle. The umbrella snaps open like a weapon against the elements. Resounding click and swoosh. It is a joy to open and close this umbrella. The fabric material has gortex-like properties with the water beading off. No soaking wet fabric after shaking the umbrella after use. Finally, the canopy is 46 inches in diameter - almost 4 ft. It provides large surface area for protection from rain and wind. Pros: - incredibly strong and robust. - 12 ribs means extra strength and stability - water beading fabric - large canopy - excellent automatic open/close mechanism - small and compact when folded up - great value. For the price of 2 cheap umbrellas you can get the one umbrella to rule them all!! Cons: - heavier than a cheap umbrella Summary: - life is too short for cheap umbrellas.
