They feel comfortable in hand and I find myself fighting with the wife over who gets to slice he vegetables. We have been using them for about a week and the weight of the knives is almost enough to do the work for you. Only complaint I have has nothing to do with the knives themselves, but that I was unaware that they were made in China. Japanese Damascus was misleading in the description. The fit and finish isn't perfect but still feels high quality. I haven't compared it to VG10 steel but it does feel harder to sharpen than German medium hard steel. Holds an edge well and looks beautiful. I really like this set because I find that the Santoku and a Nakiri would be better than if they gave me a bread knife which I believe doesn't have to be a premium knife nor high carbon steel. ... show more
