It does work well for small projects, the reason I bought it. I had a few different ones on my wish list. This one was on sell and just in time for a specific craft project. The size is perfect however I did expect it to be firmer. I had a couple on my list that were more of a board. It does do what it is supposed to I just had to get a little more creative on how to use it? In the end it was not what I'd expected but I've learned to use it to my advantage sometimes I did need it to fold over.

Definitely recommend getting this is your going to use a heat press. I think if you were doing one item an ironing board might work. But this allows the heat to stay right with the item to get a secure weld to the fabric.

I'm making shirts for the first time. Everything I read suggested a heat pad on a table would be better stability than an ironing board. This little gem did not disappoint! Not only was it a good size, but I was able to press pretty firmly and only the top side under the shirt heated up. The bottom stayed cold and protected my table the whole time and this had just enough texture to not move around under my project.
