This product is great but it is a little tricky to get it onto the aquarium glass but once it is on it stays on and extremely tight if you use water on both the aquarium glass and the vinyl itself after peeling off the protective layer. This product has a matte backing but glossy finish and leaves zero fingerprints when handled and after installation but might show up during initial handling. I believe the easiest way to buy this is to get the measurements as closest to the aquarium size as possible in length as the width seems to always be longer than needed and the length is tough to cut straight without a straightedge. When cutting this product makes sure to use a brand new blade on a utility knife. You can cut the length with scissors when off the tank but you can use a utility knife when the vinyl is on the aquarium just don't cut to the side where the caulking adhesive meets the glass on the shallow sides or left to right sides (cut front and back). This vinyl is super sticky when wet and can be adjusted accordingly. Some people also use one drop of dish soap to help maneuver the vinyl with easier manipulation of the product (sliding the product over the glass). I had minor issues when using only water and do not know if the dish soap would leave any streaking after application. On smaller tanks it is easy to do yourself but with larger tanks (55 gallons or more) I suggest getting one person to help you. Using a squeegee on larger tanks is very much advised and will make your life a lot simpler but also make sure to have a plastic card on hand just in case. You really do not need a squeegee for smaller tanks but it does make the job quicker. This product is of very high quality that beats any instore product I have used in the past. This is a great backing with excellent adhesion without the use of adhesives. I would highly recommend this product for aquarium use.

Love it! Easy to install. It covers the cord behind the aquarium which helps. The black background does give a esthetic look to the tank and makes the colors pop. The material is thick and durable. No odor at all. It works great!

Worked as expected. I used this on the backside of a round fish tank. Having the black background helped the plants and fish stand out more. Product was easy to trim to the size I needed, and super easy to apply. Just the right thickness and size. Holding up great so far, good value for the money. Just what I needed.

This aquarium background gives the tank a clean, modern look. The black color really makes the fish stand out and helps hide wires and equipment behind the tank. The static cling design is convenient—no glue needed, and it’s easy to apply with a bit of water. You can reposition it if needed, which is nice. However, the cut isn’t perfect on one side, and I noticed a bit of unsticking along the edges when peeling it off. I had to trim the edges slightly to get a clean, perfect fit. The material is thin but works fine. Just take your time during installation to avoid bubbles and get the best result. Overall, a simple upgrade, just expect a little adjustment during setup.

Slapped this black background on and WOW. Instant glow-up. The static cling application was surprisingly easy — no glue, no sticky mess, no dramatic meltdown. Just smooth it on, adjust as needed, and boom: sleek, clean, professional-looking tank. This is amazing - so easy to apply to my 10 gallon, wish I had done it sooner. Before and after pictures attached. Not seeing through the back of the tank made everything look much better. Very nice solid black. Just the right level of stickiness to adhere to my tank. Almost a perfect fit. I used a straight -edge and a box cutter to trim away the little excess backer. Sprayed some water with a drop of soap on back of tank, removed protective sheet, sprayed with same solution, applied backing, checked twice, cut once. The material is soft and smooth, easy to trim, and easy to squeeze out air bubbles/pockets.

Does the job, a bit thin for my liking and it has a tendency to keep wrinkles so be careful. I used velcro on my tank frame to attach it. It looks a bit hazy in the picture but that is only because I just put sand in that tank, it looks great otherwise. People say to use the spray bottle method but tape or velcro work fine to attach it. I think this is a great value for money, I bought this one for around 10USD$ which is great for a clean look. Black backgrounds are beneficial as they help to display fish color and patterns, light backgrounds diffuse their color and make them look muted or washed out. This goes the same with substrates but I love a white sand, it looks so natural to me. This fit really well! I have a Seapora 29 gallon tank and it was a bit long although I do not mind it sticking out a bit on either side. Great background and value but it is not a high quality background, if you scrunch it up the marks are likely to stay so it is easy to ruin in that way, so durability is not the best. I would recommend since a clean look for 10USD$ is hard to beat!
