  • Great controller, but...
Bought this in August 2022 (approximately 2.5 years ago from the time of this review) and for the most part I like it a lot. It looks beautiful, with a speckled blue sheen, and the grips have all the blue swirls. It gets the job done and it's worked with every game I've tried to use it with. However, I do have a few minor issues. And they are minor, which is why I'm still giving it a solid 4/5. If I could give a 4.5 I would. My biggest issue is that if you want to use this with multiple computers/devices, it seems like it gets really confused which it's supposed to be connecting to and it will fail to pair until you tell the previous computer to forget it. And I don't mean when it's currently paired to another computer...simply being a "remembered device" can make it fail to pair to a second computer/device unless you tell that computer to forget it or turn it off. Sometimes I find myself wishing it had a dongle so I wouldn't have to deal with the hassle of a failed pairing, going back to the original device, telling it to forget the controller or shutting it down, going back, try to pair again, etc. Overall not a huge issue, just a mild annoyance, but definitely something to consider if you want to use it with multiple devices (a computer, laptop, VR headset, whatever). After 2.5 years, it is experiencing just a tiny bit of joystick drift on the left joystick, but it goes away with a little jiggle. It'll usually happen...maybe once per hour during use? I don't think I'm particularly rough with the controller, and it's a sturdy controller, but again, it's not a huge deal. Just a little annoying. But it took over 2 years to start doing it, so I got some solid use out of it before it started. There's no an on/off switch. You turn it on and it stays on until it times out from a lack of input. I do worry that with the aforementioned joystick drift, it may fail to turn off and drain my battery at some point. This hasn't happened yet, and it may not, so it may be a baseless worry. Regardless, I wish it had a manual switch. Yeah, I can remove the batteries to make it turn off faster, but that's annoying. Lastly, the Xbox button glows to indicate the controller is on or blinks to indicate pairing mode. If you play in the dark, it's pretty bright, and it's a fairly large button so it will be glowing in your face. (See photos for reference.) It bothers my husband so much that any time he uses it, I end up covering the button with a few layers of washi tape to dim it. Overall, these issues are relatively small and even combined these issues aren't a dealbreaker for me personally...but they might be for someone else, so I figured I should leave a review. All that considered I still really like the controller and don't regret the purchase whatsoever. ... show more

  • Love It
Looks pretty, I like the color of the grips, feels comfortable to hold and has proven easy enough to clean. Has also survived many drops and getting knocked over. Audio jack has the same problem all xbox controllers do with audio occasionally being a little choppy but out of all my controllers, this one is the best/least finnicky when it comes to that. ... show more

  • Buyer Beware
When i initially made this purchase, I thought i was buying it from Microsoft/Xbox directly as the site was designed as such. My 1st mistake. The 2nd was purchasing it from them. I bought a brand new controller that stopped functionig properly after 2 months. As a gamer, I expect to replace my controller once a year. NOT every other month. Steps Leading to this 1 star review 1st-reached out to seller...no answer 2nd attempt recieved a message telling me sorry charlie but its too late maybe manufacturer warranty ca help. 3rd-went to xbox-turns out that while i purchased new controller in August 2022, warrany expired May 2022....how exactly does that work? 4. Contacted Amazon was told they would request refund (I had asked for replacemnt originally) & wait 2 days for response from seller 5. Waited longer as was busy 6 Repeat step 4 7. Contact Amazon for "A-Z guarantee" as recommended by Amazon Personel after they initially tried to gt me to repeat 4 again 8. Claim denied 9 Appealed 10 Denied & told to contact manufacturer for warranty _remember the expired one from Step 3-and yes i told them that in the appeal So long story short-buyer beware unless of course u want a $70 backup battery charger ... show more
