I've used Microsoft's earlier iteration of this charger (the mini USB type connector that is on Xbox One controllers) since 2016 and now this iteration with my Series X since November of 2020. This thing has never failed, always charges (I charge it over night or when things are downloading and I'm not playing), and the included cable even works with PC. I assume that last point is probably a no-brainer, but this means you don't need a special cable for PC, you can simply use the included one and then switch using the controller on Xbox whenever you want. I don't get all the 1 star reviews. Maybe these are the type of people that leave their cables and controllers around for their pet rats or children to chew on, but I keep my stuff out of reach of the kids and have never had a problem. For the record, I have used an off brand rechargeable battery pack in the past 5 years on one of my controllers and it would frequently disconnect or not hold a charge. I will continue to buy Microsoft's proprietary offerings for accessories because I know they will work out of the box with their systems.

I ordered one of these batteries for my Xbox Series S controller because buying new double AA batteries was getting expensive. The first one I ordered did not work at all; it was a dud. The battery would hold maybe ~5 minutes of charge, then it would disconnect altogether. The only way I could play was to have it connected via USB-C whilst in use. I contacted Amazon via email, and they sent me another one and allowed me to return the faulty pack. Success! The second one works perfectly. If you happen to receive a faulty one, just reach out and have it replaced. I highly recommend it!

I’ve been using the Xbox rechargeable battery for a few months now, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best investments I’ve made for my gaming setup. The battery charges quickly and holds power for hours—even during long gaming sessions. It fits perfectly in my controller and eliminates the constant need to buy disposable batteries, which is a huge plus for both my wallet and the environment. What I really appreciate is how simple it is to charge—just plug it in with the USB-C cable (or whatever charging method your model uses), and you’re good to go. UPDATE: 6 months later the other battery wont hold a charge. I did not leave it plugged in so should not suffer from 'overcharging'. Awful experience. 1 DOA that cost as much as the battery (nearly) to return. The one that worked didn't work long. Better off buying $20 worth of Duracell batteries you'll get more legs out of them than you will these... Only good thing I got was a long USB-C cable Bought two of these battery packs one works just fine and is a great product, holds a good charge comes with a nice usb-a to c cable that is long and feels high quality. The other was DOA. The battery never charged or put out any juice. It appeared like it was 'dried out' or something as it would rattle when I shook it. These were both new in box purchases. Aside from getting a DOA battery the return process was so painful. The company did not give you a return shipping label so you as a consumer pay that. I paid $24 for a broken battery, and it cost me $14 just to return the broken product so I could get my money back. So in the end I am out 14 dollars and my time with nothing to show for it. Idk but it just feels wrong that I have to pay to ship back a DOA product and it is experiences like this that will make me only by from amazon fulfilled products.

However they die after a few months &beont charge (went through 3). If it didn't have that issue it would be the only one I'd buy. A better choice would be the ( PowerA Play & charge kit for Xbox Series S/X ) Also works with Xbox one controllers You get two the battery lasts a bit longer & two ways to charge then either by cable or cradle. Only negative is they add a little bulk so controller clips for your phone are a no go not sure about other accessories like skins ECT.

It's very reliable in my opinion and it keeps a charge for about 30 hours at full charge it's very promising at least with my experience.
