  • Breathtaking Sunrise Flight at the Columbia River
Style: X1 Fly Combo
The media could not be loaded. I took this drone to the Columbia River at sunrise and it gave me an absolutely breathtaking experience. The flight was smooth and stable, and the camera captured stunning golden reflections on the water. I was impressed by how easy it was to control, even with the light morning breeze. I’m so happy with the results that I’m already planning to buy a second one as a backup. Highly recommended for anyone who loves early-morning landscapes and wants reliable, beautiful aerial shots. ... show more

  • Im very impressed with this Drone, Great option for beginners!
Style: X1 Fly Combo
Great Drone For recreational flying, traveling and just capturing awesome photo and video. The remote works great with your mobile device, I would however be sure to us a quality device. I attempted to use a less expensive android phone and lost video signal, with my primary iPhone it worked great with no signal loss. It takes great photos and video and is super Easy to use. Mine didn't seem to come with instructions or even a startup Guide but I was able to find one online for this drone. Fantastic value for the anyone who might be looking for a great quality drone at a very good price. ... show more

  • An Awesome Drone
Style: X1 Fly Combo
This drone weighs just 248.8g with the battery and SD card fitted which puts it in a special sub-250g class that needs no FCC license and you can fly pretty much anywhere e.g. parks. At first, I struggled to follow the very basic instructions. Then I discovered that this drone looks and operates very much like the DJI Mini 4 Pro and there are many good videos online that tell you how to fly the DJI so I watched some - I recommend a YT video by DC Rainmaker. There are physical differences between this and the DJI, in particular the batteries aren't interchangeable and there's no onboard RAM so you have to buy a micro SDXC card, but otherwise, the operation is almost identical. One difference that's a slight negative is that the Anyfly can't take the lens filters that fit the DJI and none appear to be available for it at the time of writing. A USB charger is not provided (not a big deal these days) but a small USB C to USB C cable is. I used a 65W USB C charger and plugged the cable into the 3-battery charger block; it charged the 3 batteries in sequence indicated by moving green LED bar graphs under each battery. Next, I plugged the USB C cable into the control unit and the same style 4 green LED charge bar graph came on; once charged, the bar graph indicator went out. Then I went to download the App - I searched for "Skyany" in the App store where I had first to download Apple's TestFlight App and then the Skyany App which (at the time of writing) runs in Apple's TestFlight environment. I ran the Skyany App on my iPhone 14 Pro Max and used my email to create an Account. I was then able to activate that account from within the Skyany App and it ran up and was provided with in-App guidance on setup. My iPhone 14 uses the older lightning connector and I was pleased to find a small right angle USB C to lightning cable included with the drone which I swapped out for the USB C to USB C one that's pre-fitted to the controller. Once plugged into the iPhone, I switched on the controller using the 2 step process which involves a quick press on the power button followed immediately by a long press during which the LEDs step across until they're all lit and then you can let go; the same sequence is required to switch the drone itself on and off. This is easy to fly, it basically flies itself, even in 12 mph winds. However, I highly recommend watching a video if you're a noob. Here's a few tips: • Get a fast micro SD card (A2 or better) - the drone will warn you if it's slow and video capture may be problematic; I used a Sandisk Extreme 256 GB A2 card which worked with no issues. • When you plug the SD card into the drone, the gold connectors need to face upwards, not down. • Set the central controller switch to Normal, don't go into Sport mode unless you know what you're doing. • Be careful that the rubber lugs aren't pressing any phone buttons when you put the phone in the clamp and keep the phone volume up because it talks to you with very useful information. • Pick a reasonably large and clear area to take off from, set the drone there, and let it do its initial GPS satellite capture from there; why? Because the spot on the ground where it takes off from is where it will aim to return to automatically and it's amazingly accurate. The GPS fitted to this drone is very good, it found 20 satellites within 60 seconds. • Check the small satellite count indicator on the display (top right) and don't take off until you have at least 10 and/or the text for this turns white (I believe it won't let you take off unless it has found enough satellites to get an accurate fix). • If you run into any issues when flying, let go of the controls and the drone will stop and maintain position, even in 25 mph winds. • Practice using the RTH (return to home) button (the 'H' icon on the lower left of the display) and be prepared to take over (cancel the RTH) and land it yourself (left stick down) if it's not going to land safely or there's something like dogs, children, or water at the landing spot. This feature automatically drives the drone at it's current height until it's directly above the landing spot, then the camera points straight down and it descends and finally lands itself and turns off the motors. Once you're flying, pick a clear spot and hover there. You can then rotate the drone left and right (L & R on the left stick), tilt the camera up/down using the top left wheel on the controller, and take pictures/start stop video recording using the physical button on the top right. The downlink picture quality is excellent and the 4k video and pictures this takes are stunning. Even when I flew it in 20 mph winds where it was buffeted and rocked as it held position, the gimbals on the camera kept the picture rock steady. There are a bunch of features included such as automatic obstacle avoidance (disabled in Sport mode), and slow motion which is done by taking the frame rate as high as 100 fps and then playing it back at a slower rate e.g. 30 fps. I tried flying at dusk and it warned me that light levels were too low for collision avoidance to work properly. I could see where I was going on the camera but there's also a night mode I haven't tried yet. I really like this drone: It's small, light , and easily transported; the 30+ minute flight time (per battery) is excellent, it flies really well - even in wind, and it takes awesome quality stills and videos. I'm giving it a 5 star recommendation based on its performance today but my recommendation has a caveat - I tested a very early version and I worry that the company doesn’t even have a web site, the provided instructions are very basic, and I am unaware of if or where you can buy spare parts from. The Skyany App is also under test with 71 days left to run which I think means it expires. However, it is clearly a mature App with no bugs that I found so, as long as it's released as a full App when you buy, I think all will be good. [EDIT] There is now a website at skyroverdrone dot com that includes a customer support email address. I emailed them and they responded in less than 24 hours, I am now up and running on the full SkyRover App and the drone continues to perform flawlessly. One thing to note is that the batteries, if left in the charger, will discharge very slowly so you need to charge them a few hours before flying. ... show more
