Everyone should have one of these on their drill press. It is unhealthy to allow the drill press dust to blow around and get into your lungs. It was hard to attach because I have a little hobby drill, but I managed with some clamps I found in my garage. They would have sent me different clamps if I had asked but I did ok with what I had. I have it on a small dewalt silence shop vac with a HEPA filter bag inside. It seems a bit expensive since it is just plastic tubes and clamps, but it is something that would have taken me weeks or months to jerry rig myself. I do hobby drilling in my guest bathroom and I couldn't do that without this dust collector. (yes, I clean up like a maniac when I'm done) I feel much better about my lungs now. While I am at it, don't forget hearing protection too, and eye protection. Your health and safety is important.

Item is quality made and does a good job when using a normal twist drill, when using a forstner bit it struggles with the big chips, I would buy it again if needed.

First off this is the kind of thing I’ve been needing for years and finally found the perfect solution to drill press dust collection. It works killer and includes everything I needed for the install. I highly recommend it. Build quality is excellent and easily adjustable.

I had rigged up something to collect dust from my drill press, but it was not as effective as this. The thought it out well and is fantastic. The included straps would not work with my Grizzly drill press so I had to order some separately. I recommend measuring the column before ordering so you can order more if needed.

Difficult to mount to the drill press, hard to align with the drill bit, and most of all, not effective. I set mine up, hooked up the shop vac, pointed the nozzle at the point of impact where the drill bit was running in the wood, and possibly 10 percent of the wood chips from the forstner bit were vacuumed up. Most of the chips just went flying all over the drill press table and floor.

Overall, it is well-made. Installation is not difficult, either. However, suction is, at best, not what I expected. I had been using a Cen-Tec 1 1/4" hose with a simple conical attachment. It worked great. The only problem was holding it in place while drilling. This connector reduced the air flow to the point where it didn't pull enough chips or dust to make it worth even hooking it up. I'm going to experiment with it. Possibly using larger tubing or modifying it to hold the 1 1/4" Cen-Tec hose instead of the clear plastic tube that came with it. The shop vac is a powerful Bosh HEPA unit that has excelled at everything that I have thrown at it, except for this collector.

This is a really great unit. I would recommend it for anybody that a drill press. The two different length tubes make it usable for just about any drill press table height. Only down side of it is the hose that you connect to the unit. I had an expandable one that I used with my old "Home Made" unit, I attached it to this one and when I turned on the vacuum the expandable hose shrunk back to the original length, rotating the sucker end up. I installed a flexible hose and it works great.
