This product arrived in a substantial box, well packaged. The instructions were not the clearest, but if you use common sense you can get through it. The people that are complaining about the difficulty wiring probably have not had much experience with automobile wiring. *** if you don’t connect the ground wire to chassis this thing will not work *** I had to exercise the selector switch in order to get smooth operation but it’s fine now. I spooled out the tow rope and hooked it onto my excursion and it pulled my Jeep crossed the yard like it was walking my 5lb. Pomerania. If I we’re making my living pulling people out of trouble I would spend more money, but for the money this is a good product. The remote works great and it looks amazing on my Jeep. ... show more

This was a straightforward install. The wiring is easy, the instructions were clear. It fits perfectly behind the bumper of my 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Installed it on a Warn Winch Plate. Also have a Blue Ox tow bar and KC lights and the Winch looks like a perfect match and everything comes together. Even the color of the rope is a perfect match to what I’ve got going on. This winch costs less than most on the market and performs as expected. Save your money, as another review said, “avoid the Warn hype” and go with this. You won’t be disappointed ... show more

WARNING! Instructions are dismal! 1 star deduction it’s so bad! Diagram was more a breakdown of the components of the winch. Needs hardware identification guide! Also, instructions has installation of the winch to bumper first, then wiring. DO NOT go in that order!!! Reason? There is a shell that partially encases the motor and the wire connectors are located just above an opening to that shell that I will call “the black hole of hardware”! Trying to connect the wire, the nut dropped and fell into this black hole (see pic where finger points) and because the motor is round, my magnet retrieval tool would not reach to retrieve that nut. I had to uninstall the entire winch, fish the nut out (with picture hanging wire with a hook bent on the end), and THEN I did all the wire connections to the winch before reattaching to the bumper. If you chose to do it in the order of instructions, do yourself a solid and block this black hole of despair and anguish with masking tape to prevent fallen hardware from being sucked into the void! Aesthetically, it is a good looking winch. I have not yet had a chance to test it out so I’ll leave my review at 4 stars and if in use it falters or fails to meet expectations, I will reduce the rating. It will not increase due to the poor instructions. I can’t ignore the anguish that has caused! UPDATE: got the wiring completed and the winch is operating well. I thought I was cheated out of the advertised wireless control, but realized the one controller is both wired and wireless. Unplug the cable and notice the indicator changes color between green and red to let you know if it is in wired or wireless mode. Both modes worked for me. ... show more

I Install was super easy, came with everything you need. It did not include a curcuit breaker and I do not know if there is one inside the solenoid cover. Might be a good idea to buy one. The remote is amazing. It has a built-in battery that I assume needs to be charged by plugging the remote into the winch. Sounds kind of annoying, I wish it took some AA's or something. But, I have had no issues. It connects immediately and the range is every bit of 120ft. The magnet is super handy too. I have used the winch 5 times so far, 4 pulls to get my Lexus out of some mud, and another time pulling a Jeep out of some sticky mud. I had the Lexus chained to a truck and the winch was dragging both of us to the Jeep, so I had to chain the Lexus to a tree. So it's a very strong winch! I do not doubt the 13.5k rating at all. For the price, I highly recommend this winch. I will update the review when the unit has an issue. ... show more

    • Fantastic recovery of my tractor
I got stuck in the mud with the rear tires half in the swamp. Using this winch initially it pulled a 10 in tree that had shallow roots. Later I extended the line with “ yellow tapes” and every single time the yellow tapes broke. Finally, with the red winch cord and chains I was able to get out!!!! The only problem is that tractors are not ready or have specific winch installation areas so I needed to weld a universal winch plate perpendicular to the weight attachment plate present in front of John Deer tractors. The winch never got hot neither got inefficient at any point. I guess the time I spent preparing the line got the winch the necessary rest. ... show more

I put off getting a winch cause of the money. You sure find out how long a snatch rope is when you bury your truck trying to yank a stuck zero turn out of the front yard. Bought the winch that night. Paired it with a x-bull cradle, works great. I have a front hitch I keep it on. Great news though on my 150 with winch on back receiver the end gate opens and does not hit winch. This is the winch pulling out an IH 856 the 856 weighs 10,000 pound we fell in some ruts and the winch gave us enough help for the tractor to climb out. ... show more
