This tattoo machine kit is pretty nice. It comes with most of the things a beginner needs to get started. The main thing it is missing is ink. You get the pen, 2 batteries, a bunch of needles, and some practice skin. I haven't used it on a person yet, but on the practice skin it was easy to hold and use. This tattoo machine kit should be considered an entry level machine. And, for that purpose, it's a very nice machine and can serve someone well for the first few months they are tattooing. High end pens can easily cost over $1000, so for $119 (the price when I ordered), it's a great deal. I'm fairly new to this world and I've never personally used one of the $1000+ pens yet, so can't exactly compare this one to those. It has reasonable vibration and the performance seems quite adequate for someone just starting out. The fact that it comes with an extra battery head is a real plus, as I'm not standing around waiting for the battery units to charge in the middle of a tattoo. The needle cartridges (40 of them!) it comes with pick up the ink nicely, but you probably won't use this same brand once you use them up as there are SO many good brands out there and you can easily find very suitable needle cartridges right here on Amazon as most of them comply with a "universal" fit this machine uses. It also comes with one practice skin, but if you are just starting out, get yourself a 10 pack or two. You may also want to buy a set of cartridges that come with ink pens in them instead of needles so you can practice away on your own skin then just wash off the results when you are done! It’s a nice little starter kit for beginners! Maybe not top not quality but it’s decent. Comes with alot of what you’ll need to get started. Overall, I wouldn’t say it’s the best machine out there but it’s a nice little bundle for someone just starting! Just be careful with the inks that these kits come with, it’s pretty risky to use them on human skin in case of bad reactions so I use it on fake skin only. ... show more

Ive always been fascinated with tattoo art and tattooing but never wanted to be a tattoo artist. Never did I think that for less than $100 i could pretty much make my dreams come true! This set comes with everything except the ink. It's really easy to use, although I don't have much to compare it to. I also have a wired set and I like the wireless so much more. It's so much easier and more comfortable to handle and results in way better drawings. It comes with a couple of skins too if you want to practice before moving on to human victims! Someone else mentioned to maybe do some training or reading before using on humans and I would definitely suggest that too. Poking people beneath the skin is risky business (hence my lack of desire to actually be an artist, among other things) and you don't want to be carefully and give yourself an incurable disease. ... show more

It's an OK machine. Not the best but certainly not the worst. Has low vibration, which is nice. The needles pick up ink well. Perfect for practicing on fake skin. I like the dual batteries, allowing you to switch batteries and not stop to charge it up.

As other reviewers have mentioned, this new school kitchen scratcher kit doesn't include everything you will need to safely ink people. However, it definitely has a lower learning curve than traditional OG coil guns. Build quality is surprisingly good and it is simple to change speeds and swap out cartridges even with sweaty gloves on. This design is much lighter, quieter, wireless, minimal vibration and is far easier to sanitize than traditional guns. There is no risk of absentmindedly zapping yourself or your victim. You don't get tangled up in cables or need a foot pedal. Most importantly, it doesn't need to be calibrated. Click the button to change the speed. Depth is pre-set. None of this can make up for in-person instruction, apprenticeship or artistic ability. Please consider at least familiarizing yourself with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Training. Without this knowledge, you could put yourself and others at risk of allergic reaction, HIV, Hepatitis & MRSA. This thing makes permanent marks. Take it seriously, or you'll regret it. ... show more
