Easy setup and a great value. Great camera, very clear Pic. I have it as my porch light. Very easy to install, exactly like a regular light bulb. Length was perfect so we didn't need to use the extender option. The brightness of the bulb can be adjusted very easy. Love that it can be program to turn on and off at sunrise to sunset. This is a add on unit and adding it to the app was very easy. I really like the app, pretty straightforward. Having said that, the initial set up for our 1st purchase, a Flood Light Camera, was not very user friendly. Instructions were confusing. Took a bit to figure it out. I am Very Happy with the product itself and I highly recommend.

The system was easy to install and able to watch the backyard and driveway with out having to wire a video camera. The system covers the area every well with high color quality of image and able to make out a person or an animal. Since the camera is a bulb as long as the light switch is turned on the camera will keep recording. The system will let you know if the product is not working like if someone turned off the light. You can zoom in to the video to get better view of a image. Responsiveness can be set to the area you want to watch. The system was very compatible with an outside lighting.

Overall, this is a great camera. The video is nice and clear, it alerts me with movement, and set up took all of five minutes between connecting and plugging it in. I do want to note, this camera CAN NOT be controlled via the app in the way of movement. Admittedly, this is partially my fault for not going further down and seeing the picture of a person moving the camera, I just had not realized that meant no auto rotation. You set it in one direction, and it stays in that direction unless you move it yourself. There is good and bad to this, as if you want to be able to turn to see a different angle, or a different side just for a quick peek when you are away, you’d can’t. No camera movement. I think it surprised me as I have purchased about four different bulb cameras before this, and this was the FIRST time I got a more name brand, and the FIRST time I got a camera that does not have the ability to rotate remotely. A bit frustrating, but again, the video is nice. The other thing I want to point out is there are quite a few different layers of subscriptions. I am used to one with a few different levels, but this one is confusing. You have the basic free, then a Cam Plus which is very fairly price. I thought this was it, then I realized there are two more, Cam unlimited, and cam unlimited pro which are kind of hidden until you do the first one who its a bit misleading but again, not overly serious. The other two subscriptions are a significant more. I did just go with the cam plus to have some cloud recording. If the camera self rotated, I would be tempted to get the other plan, but as it is, I think this bulb with just be the lesser plan. I will say, having an actual light attached is amazing and well worth the annoyance of the camera not self rotating. I don’t have another light on my garage. Honestly, I would have probably returned this if it didn’t have the light.

Just received these and I couldn’t be happier. Read the instructions, Inserted the SD cards I purchased with them, downloaded the Waze app, screwed them in the sockets, followed the prompts, and voila! Beautiful clear video with sound. The lights turn off & on at the times I set. I think this is the best purchase I’ve ever made. I’m 67 & had ZERO problems with the install. Buying a doorbell camera next.

This is one of several cameras I’ve purchased from the Wyze Ecosystem. I bought this camera to use on a small porch attached to the lower level of my house. It works well and captures excellent pictures and videos, both during the day and at night. One thing to note is that unlike the pan/tilt cameras offered by Wyze, this camera doesn’t provide a 360-degree view of an area and needs to be manually positioned. I mistakenly assumed that I could move the camera 360 degrees, but that was my mistake, not Wyze’s. Setting up the camera is quite simple. If this is your first camera within the Wyze ecosystem, you will need to create a Wyze account or download the app. After logging into your account, you can follow the instructions provided in the app to set up the camera. This involves screwing the camera into your light fixture and ensuring that the light switch is turned on. The camera will enter setup mode and then provide instructions to pair it with the app. The camera has both night vision and a built-in LED light. The light can be controlled via the app. One thing to note is that since this camera requires power from the light socket, you’ll need to always leave your light switch “on”. Thankfully, Wyze provides a sticker stating this, which you can attach to your light switch. I live in a two-story house with my router located one floor above where this camera is installed. I haven’t had any connectivity problems, and the camera is responsive. I highly recommend this camera if you need a camera outside where you have a light fixture but don’t have an outlet.

Good •••Picture quality during the daytime is actually decent. Better then my V3 cameras. This has an awesome FOV compared to the V3. Nighttime color night vision was terrible IMO compared to the V3. Really washed out and lacking color compared to my old V3. Bad •••Camera was constantly flickering while watching the live view thru the app for some reason. Restarting the camera would fix it temporarily, but it would start doing it again. I like to keep a Samsung tablet with the Wyze app open on my end table as a way to be able to view my cameras at any time. Never had an issue with the V1 cameras nor the V3 cameras when they were hardwired inside or outside. This bulb camera flickering was annoying. The color night vision on this camera was terrible compared to the older V3. The bulb camera was installed less than 6 inches from where one of my V3 cameras was installed so i know it's not a location issue. The color night vision on this camera was very dark and lacking color TBH. Actually kind of let down by how bad it was compared to the V3. Daytime the camera is amazing, nighttime... not so much. Also the light in this does what it wants. I tried putting it on a schedule at night, didn't come on at the 10pm time i scheduled it to. When I turned it on, didn't go off at 6am when scheduled to. It was still on at 7:30am when took the kid to the bus stop. Also why isn't there any Google or Alexa integration with the bulb like the inside bulb? Makes no sense the bulb isn't a smart bulb... it's 2026 ffs. Wanted to like it, i did in some aspects, but the issues with the flickering and poor color night vision have let me down on this Wyze bulb cam. I'll be putting my V3s back up for now.

These cameras work pretty well, particularly for the price, and are extremely easy to set up. The camera resolution isn’t the highest end, but for $50 the performance is satisfactory. That said, I really do like these cameras. It remains to be seen how they last, but so far they are overall excellent. I have one pair of these cameras about 200 feet from my house ant my driveway gate, and one camera loses connectivity sometimes, but all I need to do is tap the camera screen and it syncs back up. The finicky camera is mounted the other side of a 4 foot stone pillar 200 feet from my house, so I think it can be forgiven. Honestly, I’m surprised it works at all. I haven’t had the camera long enough to explore everything but it does some interesting things like microphone and speaker. Great if you need to speak to a delivery driver or scare an unauthorized person off. I’m thinking that if a motion alert showed up for a person where they should not be, like while you are on vacation, you could speak to the person via the camera and say “guy in the blue hat and Chicago Bulls shirt, you are trespassing, we’ve sent your picture to the police and they are on their way.” Then hit the siren and flashing lights on all the cameras. I can’t imagine anyone hanging around even 10 seconds after that. The field of view is about 140-160 degrees and the bulb is probably equivalent to an ~80 watt incandescent. Obviously, as a bulb replacement device, it could just be removed and stolen or destroyed but it would still capture images of who did it. Better security if it can’t be easily reached but definitely better than nothing and really easy to implement for most folks. I would have liked to implement a system with no subscription but the unlimited plan for $129 a year seems reasonable for the ease of setup and a couple weeks of cloud storage for multiple cameras. Keep in mind that using wireless devices is an inherent security risk both to camera data, and to your network. Choose a strong unique password for each device or you leave an easy exploit into your network. Overall, I’m happy with these cameras and also bought floodlight versions, which are much, much brighter.
