The tool has the ability to apply a responsive 88 degree bevel or a forgiving 90 degree bevel. The edge tuner is lightweight and fits into a pocket for easy transport. File is include rough side for initial edging. Smooth it over with the other side. Easy to use this does a real nice job on your side edges great for the price. Easy to use, small enough to carry with you. Has an arrow on the file showing the direction to sharpen/tune the file can be slid up or down in the plastic holder (if you needed to adjust how far the file sticks out, ) 88 degree angle or 90 degree angle two sided file a rough bumpy side for removing rust or other defects, the smooth side is actually the file that sharpens.

It definitely sharpens but I don't know if it's reasonably comparable to what a ski shop would do. However, unlike what a few reviews said, I can't find the described poorly marked arrow to indicate which way to run the file (less 1 star). So, with the ski bottom up and the device down, I tested it in each direction and found that the direction with the most resistance was the one that did the best cutting/filing. I then marked that end of the file to indicate the correct direction. At this price it seems to be a very acceptable tool and next winter I'll know if my dull skis are why I'm not a better skier. Or, could it be me? And, for Amazon, I returned the first WSD beveler that I ordered because it had rust on it, a piece of the plastic grip was missing and the plastic had a groove in it seemingly from being previously used. Simple but perfect I was told to take my dull skis and snowboards to get a big work up done on them but I didn’t want to spend crazy money.     • If you own a snowboard - put this in your bag
People underestimate how much of a difference a quick tuning can make. One an icy or soft slope it can make the difference between a good and a "not so good" day on the slope. Think of it like a sharp knife. We can live without a sharp knife, but having one is sooooo much nicer.

Unclear as to whether angle mounting for edge cut (90 or 88) means the one facing you or facing the work. Had to measure angle and ascertained angle faces work.

I bought this because the whole package was cheaper than a replacement file. The hard to see arrows on the side of the file for file direction are nice.
