  • It’s a great game brings back ps1 memories
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard Edition
I’ve had this game on pre-order for Like a year I did not get the Deluxe Edition because I was kind of worried on the quality In In the game itself on performance But I was surprised how nicely done it was I know there’s probably gonna be a couple updates on bugs and miscellaneous stuff in time But the graphics look really good and I’m on the regular PS4 not the PS4 slim or the pro just the original PS4 I like the color customizations And the accessories and upgrade you can do I wish there was a little bit more variety but it is a demolition derby game so shits going to break off anyways LOL But the tuning and upgrading Customizations are nice you can tune prior to taking off on your race you can pause the game and adjust your suspension gear ratio blah blah blah breaking you know, like in need for speed But I enjoy the variety of vehicles and the tracks that you can race on our pretty unique quite a few tracks hopefully they’ll have some more come out soon along with maybe they can update where you can have a rain storm instead of it just being cloudy or sunny pretty much But I haven’t had an issue with the game it runs really smooth it’s very chaotic and the AI likes to play rough even on the easiest settings at times but hey it’s a demolition derby game it’s so simplistic but so enjoyable that we have been used to all this other overwhelming stuff and other games that this definitely takes you back to what it means just to play online or off-line I feel like I’m having just as much fun Off-line then if I was playing on multiplayer For the Creators of wreckfest I hate that there isn’t a two player split screen because that would be Something that would really help a lot of people that like to Couch co-op this game has a lot of potential for that but I know people can still do local lan connection system link The only issue I have and I think it’s more of a personal preference but I would like to see the Three camera angles that face the back of the car as you’re driving to see in front of you had an option to be angled a little bit higher instead of being So flush with the roof in the bumper of the car it kind of takes away from the road directly in front of you I feel like I need to be like a 10° picture just enough to peek over the roofline Hopefully more weather affects come into play Or DLC’s that come into play that are more weather related which would be different and definitely cool I think the option of building your own car would be really nice and having a variety of parts that you could do and put together you know like a build your own shit start your own project for X amount of points or you cumulate parts throughout your career during career mode just a thought I like the music but definitely wouldn’t hurt to add onto it so it’s not such a repetitive playlist definitely hyped up music for sure Hopefully down the road you’ll be able to utilize what game modes that flat out did and put some of those Or your own twist of fun crash modes into the game itself Hopefully more race tracks and arenas and hopefully more epic each DLC that comes You got a good thing going here creators at wreckfest use this game as a ladder and build because I Want to see A WREAKFEST 2.0 in the works too Now if we could get the Creators That made burnout 1&2 and burn out 3 To focus on that kind of genre in strictly that game playing that time and reAmp that we got ourselves a party 🎊 🎉 🎈 But thank you so much for making such a great game for a great price. I look forward to seeing everything improves and keep up the great work keep pushing ... show more

  • "Wreckfest" is an appropriate title
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard Edition
The game basically has two main styles of racing: 1. traditional races where the main goal is to cross the finish line 1st while also completing side tasks (such as causing a certain amount of damage, spinning out a certain amount of cars, obtaining the fastest lap, etc.) and 2. Demolition Derby where the goal is usually to be the last vehicle running (all while wrecking a certain amount of vehicles or causing a certain amount of damage). In both modes, you start with a "100" rating for your car. Every crash depletes it and when you're down to 0, you're wrecked. If you're the aggressor, you don't lose many damage points when you hit somebody else, but if somebody hits you hard, that's where you lose a lot. There's a wide variety of tracks available immediately and you can win or purchase a ton of other vehicles as you unlock them in career mode and/or once you purchase them after earning enough credits. The driving physics are pretty good, especially once the driving assists are turning down/off. It can be a challenge to be fast while not losing control with the "A" class vehicles with the difficulty turned up. The damage model and debris caused by hitting barriers and other cars are probably the best parts of the game. It can be really fun though to go over jumps at high speeds side by side with several other cars or go bombing into a tight corner and t-boning a guy and seeing huge crashes with parts flying everywhere. Overall, the game accomplishes its goal, that's why it's worth 5 stars to me. If you like racing and crashing, this is definitely for you. It's not going to be as deep as games like Red Dead Redemption 2 or GTA5 or anything (obviously). I've had the game for just a week and I've beaten the career mode. The load times are a bit annoying and there are a few bugs in the game that'll hopefully get ironed out in future updates, such as floating debris, but I grew up playing "Destruction Derby" for the PS1 as one of my favorite games, so this brings me back to those days and it's cool seeing how far video games have come, at least graphically. This is the kind of game where if you just want to veg out after work or school, and maybe multitask with listening to a podcast or something, this is it. ... show more

  • Wrecks-n-Effect
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard Edition
Solid, pick up and play arcade game. I have to give the developers credit for still mixing-up the online events through March 2021, when I got the game. The graphics, physics, car designs, and car damage design are all well done. In particular, track debris is really good. You can hit hay bales, fences, tire walls, and fence posts, and they can all spill onto the track. It's for show, as one the debris is on the track, it doesn't effect car paths. But it does add to the realism. Also good is the road feel from asphalt to dirt and back. If you treat this as a straight racing game, and focus on your driving line and braking zones, you will win a lot of races. But you're also encouraged to wreck your opponents. Since it's no-rules amateur racing and demolition derbies, the game will encourage you to both race and do some car to car combat. And I didn't find that annoying. It's as fun as advertised. I like racing simulators like Assetto Corsa Competizione, but Wreckfest is an unexpected throwback to smash-em-ups from the 1990s. Pick it up and get wrecked. ... show more
