  • Great gift for preteen!
Format: Paperback
I bought this as a gift for my 9 year old daughter. She has not put it down since I've given it to her (she's even slept with it) She has been so engaged and just loves it. I love that is has pulled out her creative side and away from electronics. I would give this 10 stars if I could. I will be definitely be recommending this book to everyone with pre-teen/teenage children! ... show more

  • Buy it!
Format: Paperback
I ordered this a few years ago and just now writing the review.. Wow!!! my child is STILL using this book! This is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. She has had so much fun with all the prompts, and having something she can safely destroy as a sensory seeking child. But not only destroying it, she has an impressive fruit and vegetable sticker collection in it she’s been working on for these few years. She still gets excited to add to it. ... show more

  • Get this book!
Format: Paperback
I bought two of these for my boyfriend and his little sister. They both loved the ideas in there. This journal is a funny mess around journal and honestly I think will help with perfectionists. Each page is something new and I wish I got myself one!

  • Huge hit with bonus daughter!
Format: Paperback
My bonus daughter has been going through a bit of a rough patch lately. She loves to draw/sketch, colors, create, and be creative. She doesn’t follow the crowd, she paves her own way. Being only 10 I feel like she is very self aware that she is different than most other kids. Which I think is amazing and a great thing! She was born to stand out rather than be a carbon copy cookie cutter version of someone else. When I came across this journal I was actually looking for something for my son. I thought he would find this interesting however he’s not very hands on and will actually sit still and do this. He would rather create a new type of aircraft and test it at the speed of sound to make changes as far as durability than be creative in THIS way. Bonus daughter’s face lit up when she saw this book. I asked her if she would like to try it and she said “yes”! She was excited and I was excited to see her excited to try something new after the week she had. I can admit it was challenging for me to let go of “control” when she asked for paint to dip her hands on the make handprints on a specific page. However I remembered why I got it for her in the first place, dug out the acrylic paint, she picked yellow, and on top of brown craft paper at her fathers work desk she put her yellow hand prints all over the pages that asked for this. I would recommend this book to anyone. Adult or child. I feel like if you know someone well enough you will know if they will be engaged by this book or not. At first I thought my son and purchased it. I’m glad though that I have it to my bonus daughter because she’s enjoying it so much, and in such a time of need. She’s able to express herself in ways and be challenged on her self expression. This was easily worth the money and the smile on a child’s face. Buy this book. If it’s not for you: I can guarantee you will fine someone to give it to quickly. 10/10 recommended. ... show more

  • literally SO FUN
Format: Paperback
Before I say anything, this is NOT for someone who likes to keep books new and clean, because I promise you, you will get messy. My parents didn't quite like the idea of ruining something like a book, but you have to get past the point of trying to keep it neat. Anyway, this has been so fun to do. I have had to restrain myself from doing all of the pages. Some are definitely gross, like chewing or licking the pages, or others have to do with coloring or painting entire pages. Also, dealing with a lot of anxiety, this has been a really good way to let some feelings out, especially with the pages that involve writing things down about your feelings. Now, this is only if you need it, but here are all of the prompts. I know it's long, but it just gives you an idea of what you're getting yourself into :) (add your own page numbers) (crack the spine) (color this page RED on purpose) (pour, spill, drip, spit, fling different colored drinks here) (poke holes in this page using a pencil) (draw lines fat and thin) (this page is for handprints or fingerprints) (color this entire page) (throw something at this page) (press leaves and other found things) (do some rubbings with a pencil) (scribble wildly) (tear strips of color) (glue or tape these page together) (fill this page with circles of any color) (document your dinner) (chew on this) (mix colors until they turn to mud) (tear out this page and crumple it) (fold this into an airplane) (wrap a gift with this page) (eat colorful candy and then lick this page) (write your thoughts here) (tie a string to the spine and swing it around) (pick this journal up without your hands) (climb up high and drop the journal) (compost this page) (do a really bad drawing) (put sticky things here) (make a paper chain) (cover this page with only office supplies) (rub this page in the dirt) (use this page as a test page for your colors) (drip something here) (sew through this page) (glue a piece of newspaper here) (cut up tiny bits and glue them here) (trace things in your pockets here) (collect colors you like here) (scribble only using pens you borrow) (page for good thoughts) (make prints of anything) (ask a friend to do something with this page; don't peek) (let the colors run) (glue random things here) (tear this page out; take it with you everywhere) (infuse this page with a scent) (color outside these lines) (close your eyes and connect the dots from memory) (collect your pocket lint) (roll a die to find out what color this page will be) (make drips of something) (document items in your home here) (draw with scissors) (find a way to freeze this page) (draw with crayon and paint over) (draw lines using abnormal items) (punch this page with paint on your fist) (create a color explosion) (find a way to wear the journal) (create a nonstop line) (space for negative comments) (a page for 4 letter words) (write on this page with a pen in your mouth) (cut strips and weave. put back in here) (document time passing) (work with only colors you hate) (hide a secret message in the book) (try sleeping with the book and tell us how it was) (close the journal and write something on the sides) (stain log) (attatch these pages together somehow) (splatter) (collect dead bugs here; just do it) (float this page) (hide this page in your neighbors yard) (roll the journal down a large hill) (turn the book into a shoe) (slide the journal down a hallway) (smush something colorful on the page) (cover this page in tape) (fold this page how you want) (add a new color to this page every day for a month) (cut slits all over the page) (fill in these shapes with color) ... show more
