In the past, we used 2 2x4s bolted together with the fence material sandwiched in-between. Effective, but time consuming to assemble. This fence stretcher is a vast improvement. It's super easy to lay the fabric on top of the stretcher and insert the wedges to keep it in place. It pulls evenly keeping the fencing tight while you nail to the posts. This stretcher is well made and finished. My only complaint is that some of the welds aren't great, but I don't think they'll come loose. ... show more

I was pleasantly surprised to see a stretcher like this arrive by mail. Usually tools of this quality come from my local farm store. I am building a fence around part of my yard through the woods...so there are places I can't get the tractor in to pull. Instead I use a tree and my come along. So far this has worked really well. I used some cable to make a triangle top and bottom of stretcher and wrap on my come along.....it evenly pulls the fence with no sagging in the middle. It also works great with my tractor in clear areas....Really this has been a huge help and made my fence super nice and tight. ... show more

I got this to install a new fence . It is very easy to use, set it against the fence, and put the pins in. I pulled it with my truck, and it worked excellent. It made the fence very tight, and didnt bend or break. If you are installing woven wire fence, this is a must have.

This woven wire stretcher is surprisingly heavy, which I think reflects the strength of the steel construction. I have multiple other styles of stretchers, but this is really the first that uniformly stretched the wire from the top wire to the bottom wire. I can actually keep the vertical wires in the fence straight and pointing straight up, instead of arcing in the center toward the stretcher like a parentheses or slanting from bottom to top. The wedges hold the wire in place so you can put a lot of tension on the fence before securing it in place. I have a small farm with a shocking amount of fence work. I am not an expert by any means, but I am getting better and having quality tools like this stretcher makes me look like I knew what I was doing. ... show more
