Description

Traditional circular saws are bulky and unwieldy. They usually have a cord to get in the way, and if you don’t know what you’re doing, they’re hard to control. Meet the Worxsaw. This 3-3/8” Compact Circular Saw is perfect for beginner DIY-ers that are ready to step up to intermediate projects, or serious woodworkers that just want an extra, grab-n-go saw for quick rip and plunge cuts. It comes with a 1.5Ah battery and 5-hour charger, a 24T carbide- tipped blade, a hex key to switch out that blade, a vacuum adapter, and a parallel guide, so you’ve got everything you need to get going right out of the box. With a no-load speed of 2300 rpm, it can achieve the speeds of much larger saws because the thinner kerf of the 3-3/8” blade puts less strain on the motor (as compared to a full-size 7”+ blade). That also means the motor will last longer than larger saws. It’s only 4.4 lbs, so you can take it anywhere, store it anywhere. The grip with integrated safety trigger is well- balanced, for excellent control. The left-side blade design makes it so that you can see exactly where it is that you’re cutting, instead of measuring and guessing. And maybe best of all, you only need one hand to operate it. This product was misrepresented, it is awkward to use and does not have enough power to complete a 24" cut on 3/8" press board. I kept trying to use it with with little success When spoke customer service it sounded little like "customer beware excuses ". That's the way it was designed.

Bought it last October 2022, and to be fair, I tried many different applications before writing this review. Light weight & versatile (once you figure out how to utilize it's potential); battery performance is better than expected. Purchased additional blades from Amazon. Saws worked well on applications each was designed to perform. Since most of my battery operated tools are "older than god" (LOL); I'm leaning towards replacing them with Worx tools.     • Really lacks power to cut through wood

I love worx and use several of their innovative tools. This little saw seemed like a great addition for tackling some medium-sized furniture projects. It really is lightweight compared to other circular saws and it's nice that it's cordless. However, for me, the benefits ended there. The saw had a really tough time cutting through 1" thick solid pine, so much so that I had to abandon it for a larger circular saw even though it's able to plunge to that depth. On another board about 3/4" deep, it still had a really tough time even though the wood was softer, and I couldn't get it to cut a straight line very easily even when using the track. It's hard to see the blade itself through the card to eye the cut and make sure it's straight. Overall, I would recommend many Worx products, but not this one, unless you are cutting only 1/2" or less and the wood is softer, OR if you are using it for little crafts or even chopping up pieces of trim or something really thin/small (then this would be perfect). For medium size DIY projects, furniture, and woodworking, be sure to gramp you a saw with a stronger motor and bigger blade! ... show more

THE ISSUE: The extremely heavyweight spring on the guard makes it very hard to maintain enough pressure to force the guard down while cutting, and impossible to keep hold of the lever to pull it up. I resolved this by setting my depth, pushing the guard down and duct taping it in place. This leaves the safety still operational when I turn it on. Now it cuts, but this is poor design for a lightweight saw. UPDATE: This saw spins the blade but seems to have no intention of moving thru wood to cut it, unless forced. I have run a circular saw before many years ago. This looked like a great option for small projects where I just need to cut a board. We are using it to cut a little 1/4" wood underlayment for a small space. With the wood laying flat on foam board, the saw seems to bind and halt a bit. This may be the wood, which is poplar, not sure. The lengthwise cut with the grain was worse. I had to apply a lot of downward pressure and very slowly move the saw thru it. Not easy but got the cuts made. My issue with this saw is a safety one. I don't like the location of the lever that is used to allow you to lower the guard, and blade into the cut. While trying to set the saw, it was to easy to also hit the start button. ... show more

I have read where others have complained it will not cut through soft wood. I have cut through medium hardwood 3/4” thick with no trouble at all.
