    • Very poor performance when planning. Not enough power.
If I could I would return this. Stops in the middle of planning a door, actually it stopped three times on me. Very hard to control how much down force you are using. Much rather have a 120V corded planner.

    • Just as good if not better than my Ryobi hand planner
I have used this planner for multiple projects including shaving down a door, planning wood pickets to take out the bow, and planning painted deck boards. I own a Ryobi hand planner and I actually like how this one feels in my hand better. The only reason I like my Ryobi over this one is because the batteries are easy to purchase from my local hardware store and these are not. They both have similar power and I think this one planes the wood just a bit flatter and more uniform. I just wish like many of the off brands that higher AH batteries are included as hand planners need at least a 6AH battery in my opinion. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. When needing to remove more than just the surface layer of wood when doing a woodworking project in the field, having this handheld 20-volt Cordless Hand Planer is far more useful than just a sander. This cordless planer will be especially useful in my opinion for planing down wooden doors that are tight and sticky in the doorframe. I was definitely impressed with how quickly (1-to-2 passes) I could remove 1 to 2 millimeters on an old very rough and ugly 2x4 and turn the board back into a useful piece of lumber. The bag does fill up very quickly so it needs to be emptied frequently if using the bag. I chose to take it off while planing outside where it was not an issue for the wood shavings to blow away with the wind but I did get a lot of shavings on me. The 20-volt battery provides decent power and the overall weight of the planer with the battery attached is reasonable. ... show more

Okay I'm one of those people that fall into the Pinterest DIY traps. I needed to get a wood planer for one of my projects and decided on this one. This is a great inexpensive planer for all you DIYERS out there. You can adjust the depth that you need to cut. I like that this is cordless so you don't have to worry about any cord getting tangled up or getting unplugged accidentally. My suggestion is to practice on a board before using it on your actual project. I took me a few tries to get comfortable with it and to adjust the depth. It did take me 3 passes but man it was so worth it! Not heavy at all so it made it easy to glide across the door. Love this thing. ... show more
