Workpro is a brand for Hangzhou GreatStar Industrial a Chinese manufacturing company and this product was manufactured in China. These are metric Chrome Vanadium ratcheting combination wrenches coated with black electrophoretic paint. The ratcheting end is 72 tooth, which is on the lower end compared to the 90 and 120 tooth options on the market today. The open end has a quick-slide feature which lets you loosen or tighten nuts without fully removing the wrench from your work. These wrench are sized 8mm through 17mm however they are not straight through, missing 9mm and 16mm sizes. Moreover, wrench sets should go up to 19mm. The wrench sizes are engraved on both ends and both sides of the wrench, but only one side has gold paint filling. The gold filling does stand out against the black electrophoretic paint, but you will need to flip the wrench to see the size since the unfilled engraving is near impossible to see easily. Compared to traditional wrenches with angled box end, these wrench ends are straight. The ratcheting end is uni-directional, so have you flip the wrench to loosen or tighten the nut. Workpro has also included a very nice nylon tool roll with size labels for each wrench. It also folds up nice and tight. I think they did a great job with this. Workpro writes in their product description that “coating resists rust and corrosion, while hardness up to HRC 50, allows the wrenches to withstand higher torque”. Up to HRC 50 is not very definitive. It could be 10 or 50 – it doesn’t really make a statement. All-in-all these wrenches are decent quality, especially at the current promotional price. It would have been better if sizes 18 and 19 were included and a more definitive HRC rating. That said, they are a good value.

Ratchet side is nice. . Not sure how long they’ll last, but doing a great job on my lathe. Nice and flat to fit all awkward bolts. Now, the open side (other end of the ratchet side) has what I guess is supposed to have been designed to work better. But all the weird curves on the surface that make no particular sense, make it very hard to place them right on a bolt. Maybe I just don’t know how to use them, but without instructions I just assumed they would work like normal wrenches. And one side does.
