After 3 months of usage the trigger switch went bad. Couldn’t control the speed. Past the return date Amazon gave me 80% refund. Bought the same polisher with extended warranty.

I got this orbital car polisher and I am impressed with its performance. The polisher is easy to use and works well for removing swirls, scratches, and other imperfections on my car's finish. One of the things I like about this polisher is how sturdy it is. Maybe it would be a bit heavy for long term use, but just using on my cars will not be too difficult. It is easy to hold and control, allowing me to get into tight spaces and awkward angles without any trouble. The orbital motion of the polisher ensures that the heat generated is distributed evenly, preventing any damage to the car's finish. This also means that it is safe for use on all types of paint, including clear coats. Another great feature of this polisher is the speed control. It allows me to adjust the speed of the polisher to suit the task at hand, whether I am removing scratches or applying wax. I wish it were brushless, though I imagine with the infrequent use I will give it that the brushes will last me several years. I also wish it came with a bag, I love getting bags with tools, but that is not a deal breaker.

I picked this up to clean the oxidation from my pontoon tubes, but since there is still 2 feet of ice on the lake, my pontoon is still locked in storage. I’d liked to have given a review after using it, but I’ll have to just go with my impressions after examining it. This is not a light weight, one use, disposable tool – it is well put together and appears to be made from quality materials. The backing plate will hold up well and the included pads will work well for waxing / polishing. I had to pick up pads to use with a polishing compound, but that is to be expected. This polisher looks like it’ll hold up to many years of use.

I'm pleasantly surprised at how complete this package is and the quality of the polisher and included components. I wouldn't buy this if I was a professional using it everyday, but the quality and function is impressive. Admittedly I'm upgrading from a pretty poor quality polisher so I can only compare to the top brand units I've briefly used, but I also have many premium brand tools in my garage and recognize quality. This unit has plenty of power and reaches the set speed quickly with plenty of torque. It's relatively quiet until you get to the high speeds and gear whine and feel are minimal. The cord is long and probably about 8' which is great for avoiding the plug while working. Again, my current unit is not high quality so someone coming from a very high quality unit may see things the other way. I too wish it was brushless, but for the limited amount that I use a polisher, and the fact that it includes a set of replacement brushes, I should be fine for a long time. The manufacturer of WorkPro also manufactures other brands including Mossy Oak tools for Walmart.

This is a waxer/polisher. It includes everything you might need (except wax or polishing agent) to give a great shine to a variety of surfaces: metal, paint, wood, tile, etc. It is not necessarily made for sanding. Nevertheless, I got this device, partly to enable the use of another item sold by Amazon, the StrongTools DA Sanding pad Hook & Loop Backing Pad for Polisher or Random Orbital Sander. Sadly, the WORKPRO Buffer Polisher accepts a different thread, and in any case, requires a thin 17mm open end wrench to hold the central part of the orbiting mechanism still while trying to screw in the sanding pad. The 5/16" screw size is the same on both, but the threads on the sanding pads are 24UNF, which are incompatible with the 18UNC which is used on the WORKPRO polisher. I still think this WORKPRO polisher *could* be used as a sander, even though the backing pad is 5 3/4" and the closest size sandpaper disk is 6". Hmmm... maybe not. Anyway, as a polisher, it is excellent. The variable speed adjustment works fine and gives much desired control over the application of the polish. The foam pads are soft and with some care could last more than one use. I would've preferred to get another woolen buffer pad, maybe of finer quality, but the one included seems to be OK. It is relatively heavy, which makes the polishing action easier to accomplish. The optional U-handle can make some (vertical) jobs easier, but the front grip/rear control is fine for most jobs and certainly easier for horizontal polishing. Altogether, this is a fine tool to have for home use.

At the time I got this, I just bought a Milwaukee polisher. What surprised me about the WorkPro is that it's every bit as heavy and solid as the name brand. The handles are different but having 6 options makes it comparable to the name brands and the fact that it's cheaper, makes it even better. The WorkPro comes with a bunch of parts (terry cloth, pads, etc) that will get you going right away. If you've never had a polisher and you're a weekend warrior with detailing your cars, you need to add one of these to your toolbox b/c it will make your waxing and detailing so much more efficient. Recommend you buy extra pads for different needs so you'll be prepared for whatever need you have. Bottom line, save your money from buying the name brands and consider this item b/c you won't go wrong!
