Wood stove fan works okay, but the fire has to be pretty warm before the blades on the fan start to spin. Its sturdy material and I think it will last awhile. If you have a smaller place I think you'd notice the warm air moving cause of the fan. We used it and were fairly close and could feel the air circulating around the room. Also it sits so low that it won't really work with a regular fireplace.

The media could not be loaded. This small fan works very well in terms of it starting up quickly, operating quietly, oscillating, and using no external power. At first I did not think it moved that much air, having nothing to compare it to. However I've since had several friends confirm that their fans (of different makes) move about the same amount of air. You do not really feel a warm breeze in the large room, however based on thermometer readings and past experience there is a difference in heat distribution and evenness. Would recommend for the price.

I was skeptical if this type of fan could really circulate the hot air from the stove, and after trying out this YOZISS fan, I am still not convinced the benefits outweigh the cost. The underlying technology of converting thermal energy (the heat of the stove) into kinetic energy (the rotation of the fan blades) feels sweetly nostalgic—think steam engine—which is why this little fan feels more like an interesting scientific toy than an actual workhorse. Yes, the fan can indeed push the hot air away from the stove, but not by much. And the odd, prototypical look of the fan with its unprotected blades and exposed wire, plus the rudimentary thermometer that comes with it, only reinforces its image as a scientific experiment.

I went from praise to disappointment in 18 hours. WHY? I was impressed with the build quality and the reviews of this item. When I received it, I figured it could not miss. It looked GREAT, and a magnetic thermometer as well was included. So I stoked up the woodstove for a TEST! I set the fan on the wood stove and stuck the magnetic thermometer to the door. The blades began to spin up, and the blades started oscillating. Quiet as could be, and I was impressed! The next morning, the blades were still spinning quietly, but I noticed no Oscillating, and some freaky-looking wire was hanging out of the thermometer. Then I remembered it said in the product fold-out that it had a 1-year warranty, so I searched for a product support phone number, website or email on the fold-out or box. NOTTA! No contact, even on their product page, so I tried reaching out where it says contact the seller. NO RESPONSE. Of course, Amazon always makes it right. Yay, AMAZON, but why does YOZISS even bother to mention they cover the product for a year if they don't even give you contact information? They say to return it to the place of purchase if it fails in a year, but Amazon, in most cases, doesn't want to hear about it if it is older than 30 days unless it is during gift-giving season. Like I said, since I was within the 30-day window, Amazon made it right, but if you purchase this, you may want to purchase an extended warranty plan. It is still spinning on our woodstove, but not oscillating presently. I am just sad that the thermometer broke so fast, and the fan stopped oscillating. Otherwise, we loved the way it looked and operated when it was working properly. Possibly, we got a lemon. It was definitely worth 5 stars when it worked.

This is a decent oscillating wood stove fan. The fan was lighter than we expected. The fan blades feel a bit thin, and are not well mounted. They can wobble and be noisy at certain speeds. Like most fans of this type it turns heat into electricity to run the fan, and in this case the oscillating, rather than using a battery or plugging in. The fans spins at a reasonable rate, and the oscillating helps distribute the heat. There is a switch to turn off the oscillating. It does a decent job of increasing heat to the room. For the price, this is a decent option.
