I was honestly surprised by how well this wood stove fan work! The difference in temperature is noticeable — the whole space feels evenly heated instead of just around the stove. It’s completely silent, requires no electricity, and feels very sturdy and well made. Hello everyone, today's Vine review will be on a stove/heater fan that requires no power source other than heat to operate. While this product was primarily designed to work with a flat topped stove, it can be adopted to other heater types. For my use, I've decided to use it with a Buddy Heater while camping or in my workshop. Consequently this review will be related solely to its use with a Buddy heater. (Unboxing) Everything was well packed, there was no damage to the product, cosmetically or mechanically. Build quality looks very good, the fan has a solid feel to it and sits flat, so there isn’t any wobble even when the blades are rotating. (How it works) I'm not going to lie to you and pretend to know the laws of thermodynamics, so here’s a copy and paste explanation of the means by which this fan operates. “A heat powered stove fan uses a thermoelectric Peltier module to generate the electricity required to power the fan. In short, the Peltier is composed of a semi-conductor and when both sides are at a different temperature, it will produce electricity. In this case, one side of the Peltier is placed on the hot surface of the stove, whereas a heat sink is placed on the other side”. (Does it work?) It certainly does, but you’ll need to play around with the placement of the fan. If not properly placed, it's either not going to work, or work with reduced efficiency. In respect to how far the fan is going to blow the heat? The best I was able to get is a couple of feet, after that the hot air is going to rise and dissipate, still it's better than nothing. (Caution) On YouTube, you will find videos related to negative experiences with stove top fans in general. I believe if the fan is not properly placed, it could lead to it being damaged. If properly placed, you shouldn't have any issues. At first I made a bracket for the fan, but later decided to just purchase one specifically designed for a Buddy Heater, just to be safe. (Noise) I didn’t detect any noise generated by the fan, its whisper quiet. (Thermometer) The fan comes with a separate, magnetically mounted thermometer that is accurate enough for my needs. The thermometer's display is in Celsius. Working in my shop in the Fall and Winter can be challenging, as handling metal tools tends to draw the heat out of my hands. A Buddy heater by design lets the heat rise, yet with this fan I now have a means by which I can direct it in a more horizontal direction towards me. This is much more convenient for me. If used on a flat top wood stove, the fan is going to help to move the air away from the source, yet after that, it's simply going to rise in accordance with the laws of thermodynamics.

I really liked this fan. It doesn’t need electricity — it runs only on the heat from the stove and spreads the warm air evenly throughout the room. It’s quiet, efficient, and the 6 blades make a big difference in performance. The included thermometer is also very useful for monitoring the temperature. Perfect for getting the most out of your stove and saving energy.

Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2025 You can use this near any heat source as long as you don’t go above the recommended heat level, for example don’t sit it directly beside a fire and it can work fine near a fireplace. I tried it and it’s fine but it was not when the fire was roaring and starting up when I placed it. Included temp was handy.
