I watched a youtube video where a person made their RV trailer AC system much quieter using a product like this. Searched amazon and purchased this pack. I've used it to keep my AC paper fiberboard ducts together and reduce the noise level of the AC. It helped, but nothing spectacular as the fan is just loud. I bought the big pack to move into my car and truck for any rattles. However, it is keeping my ducting together better than the metal tape on it originally and same tape repairs. Ducts are some cheezy paper product and the connections were poor. This product flexbility and making good paper patterns have me confident it'll hold together much better than before. Heavy use and heat this summer, holding up fine.

Gave this a shot because of price. It worked out perfectly to quiet down the engine noise coming from my doghouse cover on my class C, E450 van RV. It was easy to install using a box cutter, a roller and tin snips. I was even able to re-install the Ford factory insulation over it. Very pleased with the results, and so is my wife. Just Don’t misunderstand the application of this product, it’s going to reduce noise not eliminate it.

This product is amazingly priced for what you get. I have an electric car and the lack of engine sound (especially on freeways) makes ever other sound increasingly more obvious. On top of that, the insulation in my car door hadn't stayed where it should so I had a bit of cold air coming in. Spent 45 minutes on each door (I've only done the back ones so far) and it's already made a world of difference. No more cold air coming through, and the backseat sounds quieter too. Maybe placebo, but I feel like the added insulation in the door helps the speakers sound better too. I think I have enough to do my front doors as well, but if not, I'll gladly buy another pack to finish the job. Well worth it!

I got two packs of this stuff after getting a custom exhaust on my G37 sedan. It's pretty loud (but sounds good) and droned around 2.5-3.5k rpm. Not only is this stuff easy to install, easy to cut and affordable... It really works!! I have covered at least 75% of the trunk (and it's not a small trunk either) and I haven't even used up the first box yet! I did the very rear wall and down into the beginning of the spare wheel area first and took it for a drive to see how it was doing so far, and it was already sooooooo much better. I did basically the rest of the trunk and it still got even a little bit better, but the biggest effect was the rear area right above the exhaust tips which makes sense. So I might do a 2nd layer back there and call it good. It's already 100% livable and I don't mind it at all, but I do still get a few rattles so I'd like to get rid of those before calling it quits. I'll probably keep what I have left and not sell it so when I have other parts of the car taken apart for whatever reason I can line them and get it nice and quiet. I really REALLY like this stuff.

Going on a long road trip caused some concerns due to wind and road noise while driving. I had no idea how much noise dampening my car was missing. Therefore, I started looking around Amazon to find the cheapest sound deadening per square foot. Stumbling across this, I wanted to see how much of a difference it would make and how difficult it would be to just do the doors. Each door (only 2) took around 1 1/2 hours that I did on separate days. These made a HUGE difference in the wind noise and I would highly recommend starting there. Seeing as it worked, I was ready to buy more and make the leap to do the entire car. Next, I did the trunk and used around 20 square feet of the stuff. This made a large difference to the engine noise and road noise that was usually a lot louder. There, I was also able to reach some of the side panels from the inside which in reduced more wind noise. Finally, I did the entire cabin in a day. That was a rough one. Took around an hour or two to get front seats, trim pieces, center console, back seats, and headliner down. Then the carpet came out and everything was cleaned. Throwing that rubber stuff everywhere took a couple more hours and then finally putting everything back together took another two. In total, around 8 hours I spent in the car trying to do everything. Was it worth it? I think for the price I payed and for the DIY aspect of it, yes. It was easy but time consuming. The trip was luxurious as a civic could get and I would recommend the product. I was able to actually hear my Bluetooth calls and people could hear me loud and clear. TLDR: Time consuming and laborious. Adds a good touch and reduces headaches.

Bought this when I decided to replace the speakers in my vehicle. Insulation is straight forward. The sheets have raised waffle sections that have to be flattened as a gauge to know it’s installed correctly. Adhesive is strong but has to be installed in +50 F temps but you can use a heat gun in colder weather like I did . Cuts easy with razor knives. I bought a roller but didn’t use it much , instead used a plastic panel tool instead, worked a lot better especially inside the doors . It does have a smell but only a slight one . Foil back is nice . And you cant beat the price . Good stuff .

I always see people adding this type of material to every square inch of the interior, however I read that you only need to cover 25% to be effective. Also, I didn't want to add all that weight to my vehicle. The method I used to decide where to add some Kilmat was to knock on an area and listen where it had a tinny sound and slap some on. Another piece of advice: WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES!! The backing is like thick aluminum foil. I didn't notice as I was cutting it with kitchen shears, but I ended up with several "paper cuts" on the palms of my hands and fingers in places that a bandage wouldn't stick to. They heal slowly and painfully.
