I was genuinely surprised at how powerful this router is especially for the price. I needed to rabbet an edge on a piece of half inch plywood and it blazed through it to the point that I could barely feel it cutting! First off, overall it works more than well enough for the projects I've used it for but I literally just use the the router itself and the base, all the other pieces are useless to me or so cheaply design and made I just replaced them with either a higher quality piece or bulid my own replacement part. The base is hollow and quickly gets packed with sawdust, the supplied adjustment wrenchs are to flimsy to get the apporirate torque on the collet, the guides, jigs, and hardware are so cheaply made it scared me to even use them bc I thought they would fail and cause catastrophic injury (I ended up replicating the guides and jigs with stronger materials and upgraded the hardware), and the stress reliever on the cord as it enters the motor body pulled out almost instantly and will not stay where it belongs. The rpm seem to be right on as advertised, it's very well balanced (doesn't overly vibrate), and the on/off switch is very sturdy and easily actuated so no fumbling to hold on to the tool while turning on or off. ... show more

This wood router is a total piece of junk. This is what I get for searching for the cheapest I could find. What a complete waste of money!!! It initially came with pieces broken that couldn’t even make it through transport. That should’ve been my hint to just return it, but unfortunately I decided to order a replacement. When my husband finally got around to the project we needed it for, this router could not perform whatsoever. First of all it came with absolutely no instructions; however they made sure to include the safety warnings in the box. The locking mechanism is flimsy and cheap and it will not tighten enough by hand to keep it in place. (tried with pliers and I nearly snapped the thing) There is Absolutely no way you’d be able to get even mediocre results with this tool. Also, There are a few random plastic pieces in the box that I have no idea what they’re for. Complete and total waste of money- my advice please spend more you will definitely regret this purchase! ... show more

    • Great quality, very sharp, cut very fine.
Overall 5 star bits. They feel like good quality bits and are very sharp. I tested every bit and they cut exactly like they should. Would like longer shanks but realize that they might have to be the larger size bits. Happy with price and quality!

The device works as expected - I wouldn’t recommend using it with hardwood, unless it’s a simple rout. A complex ogee or recurve will probably bog down. Chamfers probably ok, but make sure your bits are good and sharp.
