  • It even comes with templates!
I remember when I was a kid trying to see how complex of things I could build with dominoes, imagining one day creating a Rube Goldberg machine like we'd learned about in school. These are a great way to help kids learn about that, as well as help them practice patience and that even if they fall you can rebuild them up again. They are definitely the size of dominoes, meaning they're not very big. I don't know that I'd call them building blocks since you'd only be able to build something quite small, but then again I guess they couldn't just call them dominoes since they don't have numbers on them, so I won't hold that against them. The colors on the blocks are nice and bright, and the blocks themselves are smooth. And there are a ton of them, so kids can create something pretty complex if they have the patience. I found they stand up well on a flat surface. What I especially appreciate is that it comes with templates for making domino effect sequences. Not only that, but the templates vary in how complex they are. So some of the sequences are more complex and great for older kids, while some like the circle-shaped one can be done by kids on the younger side. I'd say 8+ would probably get the most enjoyment out of these, but I could see some kids a bit younger also enjoying them, especially with the easier templates. ... show more

  • Nice dominoes for toppling
Bright, vibrant dominoes. My 7 year-old daughter loves playing with these. She recently got into domino toppling videos and wanted to replicate them herself. These dominoes are well-made and heavy enough, but could be slightly bigger.

  • These blocks are fun colors and well made.
I have to admit that I ordered these blocks for myself - haha. I have always enjoyed making patterns with dominos and then watching them fall but I have always used traditional dominos, so when I saw this set with the beautiful colors, I thought they would be fun to use. They are well made and are painted well, but they are smaller than traditional dominos - especially in their thickness and weight, so they are a little harder to stand on end. They do work just fine when a pattern is made with them. They do come with some pattern cards for ideas and a nice drawstring bag to keep the blocks in. Unfortunately, the pattern cards do not fit in the bag. I am happy with them, but do still prefer the traditional dominos for making patterns and knocking them down. ... show more

  • These are great for other activities other than dominos
The paper prompts are very helpful. The edges are a little rough, colors are great. These are great for other activities other than dominos too. color sorting, play money, making patterns and other endless possibilities.

  • Small dominos, use with older students
The blocks are plain but colorful in red, blue, green, and yellow. There are a variety of these dominoes in a bag, but what really convinced me was the eight double sided cards with different building patterns to follow. There are a few different patterns that have interesting systems for collapsing the dominoes. Building different patterns that support creativity and pattern following. Some are linear patterns or even a few may just be the first step to a larger scale art piece. The dominoes are small, less than 1 inch by 1 3/4 inches (2.54 by 4.445 cm). They are also painted wood. These are probably not great for children who put things in their mouths still, but they are sturdy for some children. ... show more

  • Lots of fun for all ages
These are the perfect size for small, medium and large hands. They set up well on flat surfaces. We tested them on the kitchen table, Brazilian Teak floors, and ceramic tile floors. They did not work as well on the carpet. It took a lot more patience and the fell a lot before we were ready to knock them all down. The tiles are very light weight and I loved the patterns that came with them. The patterns helped my 7 year old learn the spacing. ... show more
