This 34-year old publication looks now better than ever. Combining brilliant, encyclopedic articles like Rod Bennett's "Fireside Sci-Fi" (Rod has a wonderful prose by the way) and trips down memory lane with the lavishly illustrated "We Were All Monster Makers" interview with Daniel Roebuck (he's one of us!), this issue will sure captivate you for a few hours. Plenty of other goodies too including a review of "Something Wicked this Way Comes", "Invaders from Mars" "Halloween Memories" and DC Comics. The magazine is beautifully printed in color. A new monster mag is always welcome,the only problem is that each patterns itself after Famous Monsters,I prefer less full page pix and more interesting features.This issue had about four LONG features,each sort of ran outta steam halfway thru.The Dan Robuck one had everything but his baby pictures.

Wonder Magazine describes itself as "The children's magazine for grown ups". I does, indeed, bring back the childlike sense of ... well ... wonder that we all loved as kids. Issue 17, the Monster Kids issue, is chock full of stuff you'll love if you have a fondness for classic monsters and all thinks spooky. The deep dive on Something Wicked This Way comes is worth the price all by itself, but there's lots of other good content to enjoy. So, pick up a copy, settle back, and enjoy feeling like a kid again. (And once you've seen how good it is, pick up a few other issues too!) ... show more
