Jacket was perfect for my trip to Colorado. It kept me warm and I enjoyed the space in the pockets and extra layer of lining. I was able to take a small wristlet and store my gloves and ski shades when needed. the hood had a lot of head space for a beanie and was fashionable. the weight of the jacket is light and not too bulky. I was able to ride comfortably on a train and airplane while wearing the jacket. You can also layer several pieces beneath. This coat looks just like the photo and the purple color is lovely. Make sure you look at the size chart as it is very accurate and true to size. I want a soft liner inside my winter coats as I live in a cold climate that this helps to keep me warm. Perfect winter jacket! I purchased this for a trip to Alaska where we would be spending some time outdoors in 1 hour increments often. Overall the weather was anywhere between 30 degrees to -10 below and I mostly only had a regular long sleeved shirt, sometimes a hoodie over it, with this jacket. If I was going to spend longer amounts of time this jacket would have been perfect to add thicker layers. It never felt too bulky at all, great fit and came down to mid-thigh. I am 5'0 and 118 lbs and the Small fit perfectly. The outer pockets helped but I do wish there was an inner pocket as well. I used the hood often when it was -10 and we were outside and it kept the cold and wind out very well. Overall I loved this jacket and really happy with my purchase. Purchased this coat for a trip to NYC during Northern arctic vortex. The wind was brutal. I did dress in layers, base shirt, sweater, and this coat. Even in this environment I stayed toasty warm. This coat was a lifesaver. The only down side was going in and out of buildings when the coat had to come off due to working too well.
